CompCoupe engine bay X brace on Gen 3 or 4 car

Anyone tried it, or would you have to cut the car up? I have a friend that's a Master Fab/Welder... I know how much flex the 6 point roll bar took out of the car.

I've been dreaming up an idea. I tried to fit a gen5 X into my 03 but then you can't get the hood closed just with it sitting on top of the intake. I've seen some old photos of a compe coupe X in a Gen4, the hood had a few minor semi-un-noticeable clearancing cuts.

I'm modding the shock tower brace on my 08, swaged tubing and heim joint/rod ends to make room for a Paxton.

I asked the same questions 4 years ago when I bought my Gen IV ACR... hadn't see it done.

Pokeyl, I'm sure you friend could do it for you.

Tom Francis may be able to supply you the new top X brace, P5154322. He'd have to fab the upright pieces

Not sure if you'd have the clearance for the stock hood, it's 3"(?) above the intake. Not sure if your a/c compressor would get in the way?

I think years ago Todd at A&C fabricated one for one of his customers. Good luck, Mike

We have tried it. You would need to modify the hood and a few other things. Not worth it unless its a track car.
