    Are radios security coded

    May be a daft question as I've not seen it mentioned before. Is the original Alpine radio in a 98 GTS the type that you have to put a code into if you take away the power to it? I need to change the battery this week as the current one has given up after 13 yrs , I havn't a clue what the code may be and don't want to get caught out.

    Gen II Alpine stock radio is not security coded, you're good to go

    No code. Never heard of that with any Alpine.
