I thought these 2 engine builds we just finished might be of interest. Both Gen 2's, both around 650hp except one is smog legal for the street and other is for endurance racing.
The engine on the left is built with all the upgrades that were typically used on the GTSR model, except we did not use an external oil sump with the GTSR oil pump. The engine has 11.2 to 1 compression and a 248/252 duration cam with .620 lift and 108LSA. Its good for 7200 rpm but makes peak power around 6200. Limiting factor on the power was the production head castings and long runner intake.
The street motor includes a refreshed production forged bottom end, Gen 3 timing gear and chain conversion, 10 to 1 compression, JM Stryker heads, a 232/238 .600 lift cam with a 116 LSA. Its good for 6200 rpm and will pass California tailpipe emissions as well as the catalyst monitor.
Both engines requires bigger injectors and some fuel system changes. The race motor with a full Motorsports fuel system and the street motor with a Gen 5 fuel pump conversion.
