    airbag recall

Does anyone know if there is a fix for the airbag recall that was sent out to owners more than a year ago? Last I was told from Chrysler was to wait until I heard back from them as they did not have a fix yet....that was a year ago. My dealer told me the same thing.

Same boat here, for my 03. A year ago - "waiting on parts". Seems like Chrysler has quietly forgotten.

And a year later, we've never received the "follow up letter".

seems odd that they can't come up with a fix given that they are laying off plant employees for a couple of months....possibly get some of them on the job and take care of previous customers!

So I called Chrysler Canada, the guy has no clue whatsoever about a fix....he couldn't put me in contact with anyone who might have information either. He contacted my dealer who in turn told him the part is back ordered. Last year my dealer said they would call me when a part was available but that there was not even a repair part produced yet!
So does anyone have a contact person to find out more information on this recall? Recall #N13

Just some additional info. Checked with my dealer last week. No fix but there is the same problem with some other models - Jeeps for example - that use the same parts as in our cars. My dealer called and there is nothing on the horizon as far as he can find out. I try to think happy thoughts as I drive down the road and I try not to look at the steering wheel just inches away. LOL

Fix and part available for 03-06.

NOT a small deal as much of interior needs to be removed per recall text. One hopes there is a simpler way as experience is gained in the field.

Surprise, surprise. Probably like many of you, and only a few minutes after my previous post, I got another recall notice today. My OCR module "might have an inadvertant deployment" which can be fixed by an ORC module filter circuit. Time to repair +/- 2 hours. Would be curious about where that filter is to be placed - I don't want my interior destroyed by folks who don't know what they are doing. Curious that my local dealer knew nothing about this last week...?

Recall Fix is a patch harness between exsiting harness and ORC module that contains the caps. To date, no Viper has experienced an inadvertent airbag deployment. SO drive with a smile until parts come in.

Mine was done last week. Apparently not nearly as hard as the instructions make it out to be. Took my tech about 1.5 hours, and you can't even tell anything was taken apart on the dash.

Mine was done a few weeks ago. Call your dealer and tell them that you want the recall done. They order the module and then install it. Not a huge deal. Will take about 3 hours.

Mine took an extra day, they were extremely apologetic about it...
