ACR at Barrett Jackson this Saturday

This is a real auction, with people etc. Bidders and guests only obviously. I can't go as I'm leaving town, but this ACR is going through-

Looks good but is it Y'Orange or TA Orange? If TA Orange it would be hot. Y'Orange not so much.

Looks like the only viper going across if the search function works on my phone.

Hold on.... what the heck does "original factory ACR car, not an ACR-optioned car" mean??? Are they saying dealers were sitting there bolting on wings and splitters to regular vipers?

I think they are referring to ACR (Vin code C) vs ACR optioned GTC (Vin code D).

Oh I didn't know that was a thing.... is that like the ACR vs aero coupe/vert with the Gen 4 cars? So just the wing and not all the other cool race car things?

Well to some it is but to most of us it isn't. The ACR-E's that came with the C in the VIN code all came with no carpet under the hatch and a 3 speaker stereo. Kind of like the Gen 4 Hardcore. They were also only offered in standard factory color combos. The GTC cars (VIN D) have all the same aero, the same suspension but could be ordered with either 12 or 18 speaker stereo, in any color you could think of, with carbon or steel brakes, with different interiors, with added carbon dress up bits.

Personally unless you want only a track car I would stay away from the VIN C cars. I would want the comforts of carpet, sound insulation, and a better stereo. Few people would want to drive a Gen 4 Hardcore on the street and I think the same applies to the Gen 5 C cars.

Awesome, thank you for that additional and helpful information. Never looked into the Gen 5 cars but still like learning about them. The 2010 ACR was the peak for me so that's what I went after and learned the intricacies of.

Do a search on "real" ACR's if you would like some entertaining reading.

It's a Y'Orange car, with both stripes in black. Sticker price was $153,635.

I mean...Gen V ACR aren’t real ACRs because you guys have all those nannies!

But it seems like I’m in the wrong Gen section to throw that out there.

Yea but I turn them off when on track so all I have then is ABS.

Y'Orange with the Brass Monkey wheels looks sick in person!

My X has no nannies but ABS. I use ABS not to flat spot tires like I did often in my Gen 2.

    How much are seller fees??

  24. #24
If it’s similar to Mecum it will be around the same 10% figure.

Good number for that car. Happy to see strong numbers are still holding tight.
