Not sure if this helps but there was a TSB on an issue where the AC vents would change from dash to floor without any input from the driver. Required an update to the body controller I think. You don't say what year your car is but it happened on my 2014. I think it was fixed in 2015 and newer.

this may sound stupid simple but make sure the AC button is on (illuminated). its located on the bottom left of the center stack below the display screen.

Can look at the radio and see if you have the most current version. Otherwise could be a dash out replacement.

In that case you need to get your dealer to update all software and TSBs. My 2014 behaved the same. I actually reached out to SRT engineers and they said yes there was an issue that a new software update would fix. I think I was the first one in the world to get the update. They sent a regional tech out to do it. The update also fixed a window problem. If you got in the car and started it very quickly the windows would lose their smart window function. ie. they wouldn't go up when the door was closed.

FYI I had the update done yesterday to mine and did not work so started taking the dash out last night. Dealer quoted $2,200

The software updates were for the body controller I believe, not the Uconnect system. You can always check if you have the updates. With the windows up, open the door, jump in, close door but immediately (I mean within a second) start the car. Without the updates the window will no longer go up the last quarter of an inch when you close the door. Not sure if the bug also happens if you leave door open and start car first. Before my car was updated I could reproduce the problem at will. I could relearn the windows to fix it but it would happen again if I did the above. Now the window does not go up the last quarter of an inch until you start the car.

Do you have a set of A/C Manifold Gauges? If so, drop them on there and check the pressures. It might be a simple matter of a recharge. I recently had to do my 2013 GTS.

If the system needs a recharge there is probably a leak. If there is you need to find the leak and fix it. Simply topping up the coolant gas would be a temporary fix.

I had this issue where it would stay on the dash or the floor. Dealer diagnosed it to the ac/heater control module. Now it works fine.
