    Seats

Been looking for stock seats with red stitching for awhile and came across the following P/N's which are technically Gen IV.

    1HX571XRAA
    1HX601XRAA
    1PP741XRAA

According to Mopar these only fit a Gen IV which does not seem right. Any reason these won't be a direct fitment for Gen III? Dealer was of no service on this question.

I used a seat lowering kit listed for a Gen 3 on my Gen 4 no problem or modifications needed....not sure what that means for the seats themselves.

I think the difference will be the wiring for the airbag sensor.

That would have been my guess, but I don't have any way of verifying.

This might be a useful resource:

    http://connectors.dcctools.com/home.htm

You can go through and look at the different connectors used in the different years - most include the pin-outs and wiring colors, so you can see which ones might be associated with the airbag sensor(s) and try to compare between Gen 3 and 4. At a quick glance, there are definitely differences, but it could be as simple as they changed the name in the database.

Just a thought. I would guess someone with both a Gen 3 and 4 service manual could probably get you a lot closer to the right answer.

I put those seats in my G3 and then went to put them in my G4. Drivers side will work OK with the airbag connections, the passenger won’t

The passenger seat has the later generation sensors that can tell if someone is in the seat. The wiring on the frame is a wide ribbon vs a regular wire. I ended up having the stiching done in red on my stock G4 seat to match the G3 Mamba style

You will also see that on a G3 you have a switch in the console to turn off the passenger airbag, on a G4 you don’t since the seat is supposed to sense when there is a passenger. Good luck, Mike

I hadn't thought about the electronics issue and the last thing I want to do is start another fight with the electronics on this car.

I am going G4 Seat to G3 and as you stated the airbag turns off in the console. There is still an occupant sensor on the G3 passenger seat for the seat belt indicator I believe.

Per the site noted by Steve M and Redtan's experience there certainly is a difference on the passenger seat wiring G3 to G4.

Any idea if the upholstery is the same? Seems like it would be easy to just swap the skins (at least on the bottoms) which is all I care about anyway.

    JonB's website shows 1HX571XRAA as 2003 - 2010 fitment.

I’m sure that the seat bottom covers are all the same for G3 and G4’s
