    Is this a stock Blub

Was thinking of up grading my headlights on my 2010. This isn't stock is it?

And yes... I am Light Bulb challenged.IMG_0278.jpg

That does appear to be stock.

What would you upgrade to? The stock HIDs are pretty good.

Nothing really to upgraded to on the 2010 headlight. This isn’t like a 90 Honda where you buy some blue bulbs at autozone. The HIDs are expensive and work great.

Could be a color change like what I did earlier this year: https://driveviper.com/forums/thread...l=1#post409166

IIRC, you start losing lumens going above ~5000K and they start looking blueish instead of white. The fast and furious crowd seems to love them though.

You do recall correctly, hence why I posted pics in the thread linked above. 4,300K is stock/OEM for most vehicles, although some go as high as 5,000K. Some don't like the yellow-ish output of the 4,300K bulbs, although it will typically look the brightest to the human eye in real life. 5,000K is pure white, and looks a bit more modern/high-end IMO.

Well it seems every year the darn headlight are just a little dimmer. It couldn't be me.

So I bought a pair of high and low beam bright white replacements from the Viper Store. I was under the impression that they would be plug and play. But the low beams looked totally different and I didn't even get to the high beams.

The bulbs they sent me look more like the fog light bulbs.

    Thanks for the quick response.

Needs to be a D1S for Gen 3/4.

How much dimmer is 5k then 4,300k? I would imagine it's not a discernible difference. And for some, the cleaner color is worth the slightly diminished light output. I have 5k headlights and fog lights, love the the way it looks.

It's not much at all between those ranges, but I believe the lumens start dropping off significantly above 5000K when you start getting into the blueish and purple colors. I've seen 5000K HIDs on a few cars and they throw good white light and look good as well.
