Prefix 9 0L with Drysump build

    Hey guys,

I don't usually post that much, but I want to engage more in the community and share some of my experiences.
I had my ACR for 2 years now, Arrow Heads Cam. Had issues with the motor the first year! couple oil pump failures! Dick ordered me a custom copper cam later to prevent the cam from chewing the block if it seizes. Had to tune the car with HP tuners which sucked. Got the car running great but still doesn't run as good as it used to be with Dick's tune.

Talking with Scot at prefix and Stradman (Alex). The 9.0L block seem more suited for the track with all the oiling tricks done to it. Also after replacing 3 oil pumps! I was done with the shity part, so going dry sump. I wan't to have a piece of mind at the track! It's 90% track car. I barely take it out on the highways as in Dubai there is speed radars and a lot of speed bumps which are as high as a mountain lol. Being oversees and shipping expenses shipping my engine back and forth, cheapest option for me was getting a whole new engine and Selling my current one (which someone already got).

I used to live in North Dakota for 6 years, so I know how hard it is to deal with people overseas (time differences). This is a big THANK YOU to Scot and the team at Prefix. For being Clear, helpful and Honest about all the small details from the start. From cost to the build to the communication. Never tried to force anything, explained all the cons and pros of how I want the build to go. Scot replied to everything I asked about, Answered all my phone calls even though he was busy. Big respect.

I went with Clevite bearings, ARP Main and head studs, dailey dry sump! Also relocate the oil filter with the clear view oil filter remote adapter.
The engine is getting shipped soon, Will be in Dubai in couple weeks. I should have the car running within a month after sorting out all the dry sump oil line plumbings and tank placement.

What's up with that?

Hey Abdulla! Nice build man. Please document the dry sump system thoroughly. Would love to see how it is all setup in your car. That is a dream modification.

That's a good question for Scot! I did upgrade to ARP main studs! even though there is holes on the dry sump pan for the regular long studs! I'm sure someone have an answer for that!

Thanks Sadil! Yes I'll share everything about the dry sump! I'll post videos when it's all done. I'm getting a petersons 3 gallon tank for placing it infront of the passenger wheel. will corner balance the car, and test it this season! I have concern about corner entry having 3 gallons infront of the wheel but the ACR makes ton of downforce in the front so it might not be an issue. only way to find out is testing it. Don't really want to install it in the trunk but will see what happens. I'll be dropping some weight of the car as well going carbon bucket seats! and a lot of carbon parts from Doug!

Scot is awesome, extremely responsive and helpful! He even spent over an hour in the scorching heat in Nebraska helping me with some electrical issues!

Get Doug Shelby's new foam core splitter extension, it'll take 7 lbs off the nose to help offset the extra weight of the tank and plumbing etc.

So OP, you had issue with the VE heads and cam for 100% track use? Now you ditched that motor and got a built 9L from prefix? Just trying to figure out what happened.

It was deyan on the Gen1-2 forum about 2 weeks ago. It was a former Viper Days wheel-to-wheel series car that had a spun bearing and a cracked crank. Good discussion there.
