Funny how the market for these cars go... 3,4-5 for sale @ once, then none for sale for a while.... have always loved this GT2

The day has finally arrived. A journey that started on July 13th 2020, when I contacted Brian Willey about the opportunity to own one of the Viper Unicorns. This started out as nothing more than a dream as I thought it would never be feasible for a guy like me to own one.

A little over 4 years ago, the dream of owning a Viper came through when I purchased my 1 of 30 paint scheme 1999 ACR, which was an amazing day. But the dream that started as a kid was to own the Holy Grail, the 1998 GT2 or GTS-R, which they only made 100 of.

After talking with Brian about the ones that had come up for sale, I started watching and bidding on a few that went through auctions, but they quickly went out of my price range. He then mentioned another one for sale, but it happened to be located in Russia. So he introduced me to Глеб Рачко (Gleb).

Over the next several months, Gleb assisted with getting me pictures, information, paperwork, and shipping info through Cosdel.

I signed the paperwork on Sep 21st and sent the money, which took weeks, due to a bank error. Then once Gleb finished the paperwork, it started the long journey home. It left St. Petersburg, Russia on Nov 6th, and arrived in Helsinki, Finland on Nov 10th, where it was loaded into a cargo container and set sail on Nov 17th. It was supposed to arrive in NY on Dec 21st, but the shipped was delayed and arrived on Dec 29th. Then I had to wait for them to offload, which was yesterday. So I borrowed a trailer from Lou and had Anthony( Jennifer) drive down with me to pick it up.

    I am the newest owner of # 31 of 100 1998 Dodge Viper GT2. DREAM COME TRUE.received_1289249788098500.jpg20201113_102246_resized.jpg20210106_104301.jpgreceived_333322851119872.jpg

I bet you were worried about all the delays and shipping process, I used ship tracker website to trace the path of the container ship my car was on, the ship went to several ports before reaching the UK I had a few sleepless nights hoping everything would be ok.

    Congratulations on your new ride.

A guy named Nik, who ran the Sochi Autosport museum bought it and exported it. I am still trying to track down the previous owner(s) from the US.
