    Audio guys

I picked up a fellow forum members Viper and it has a sound system in it I plan to remove.

It has JBL subs, custom made form and Viper emblem wrapped in leather that is a close match to the Sepia in my car. I am going to take it out one way or the other but figured maybe I can offer it up to a forum member who would be interested. Here is a pic. I believe it had two amps hidden under that I can take pics of. I plan to start removing it this week.

If anyone is interested feel free to post here or PM me.

    Thanks!

Someone did some nice fab work on that. It wouldn't fit mine, but I can certainly respect the effort that went into it. A single 10" in mine hits hard, so that must be pretty brutal.

Agreed. Prior owner says it was thousands to have it out together. Per him it was not a $2k system but multiples of that.

It doesn't make the car faster so I'm not much if a fan of it. I'm not looking to make a killing on it, just want it out and to be used by somebody.

I like it but it wouldn't be right for my car either. Someone did a great job on the installation and design.

Boy, unless you towed a trailer you couldn't even take a tooth brush with you on a road trip.

This week I am going to start pulling it out. I will get some more pictures of it and the amps. What would be cool is if the speakers could be removed, the side portions made to fold up and the front section hinged and then it would be used as sort of a cover so people couldn't see under it. Hrm.....if I don't find a person who wants it maybe I will do some modifications.

My golf clubs certainly won't fit at this time. lol

The orange section is probably separate from the black surrounding it. Sad to see that nice of an install go to waste but your car now so you get to do whatever you want!

I'm in my 30s and never would have installed it. Just not my thing.

Still in my 20s for a few more months and I’ve done this to cars before...wouldn’t have done it to a viper...because race car.

Man if this is a GTS with the 18 speaker, who would need more thump than that, its already obnoxious sometimes. I drive around with base at -4 maybe even lower.

Pretty awesome install, and it's even the right color. Ten years ago I'd be on this like a fat kid on cake, but I'd rather have the space now.

It would be fun to see what kind of rattles this system brings out...

Yeah...I'd be curious to see what kind of equipment was driving those. The cabin gain of a hatch alone is enough for 350 watts going to the 10" in mine to be barely tolerable.

I'm also guessing that entire setup with the amps is probably around 80-100 pounds.

This is beautiful, its a shame im so far from you as shipping would really negate any "deal". But hit me up and i may take all the parts minus the box. Id REALLY like to know if he replaced the front door speakers, i personally think they are absolute junk and have little to no Hi-Fi sound which gets drowned out with the 18 speaker bass. PM me

My door panels buzz annoyingly with the bass from the factory 6x9’s. Not sure I could take it from those! Awesome install though.

I believe the speakers are $730/ea so $1,460, the controller $350, the 600/4 is $930 and the 750/1 is $830 so about $3,600. The box is super heavy duty, the wiring is top notch, and the custom viper cover is don't beautifully. I can only speculate that the box and the Viper overlay is probably another $1,500 or so and connectors and wires...etc probably $500. My gut says $5,500 to $6k in components alone.

I am no wiring expert and don't care to ever be but if someone here is local and interested I would make a hell of a deal if they would be so inclined to help me take all the wiring out and return my system to 100% stock. I would also give all the wiring to this person as it would go directly into their car.

    I am in Central Florida.

Those are at best W6 subs so half that price. You probably looked up W7 which are the top line JL sub. The surround on the W7 goes over the mounting screws, so you wouldn’t see the screw holes or screws like you do on the ones you have.
