Disabling seat belt reminder when using race harness

I've disabled the seat belt alert chime but would like to disable the reminder light entirely. I disconnected the wire under the seat and it does eliminate the light but now the airbag light stays on. Anyone else see this before? Airbag light goes away when I reconnect the seat belt wire, but of course the reminder light returns. Any thoughts?

    Thanks

Go to the junk yard and cut the buckle off an old seatbelt and plug just the empty buckle in. Also if you go to ebay, people sell one just designed to do that.

    That's a great idea!

Haven't taken my GenIV to the track yet, if that keeps chiming that would drive me crazy haha!

I haven't looked at the schematics yet but I'm guessing you could just ground the wire.

You can get a replacement buckle like Getnlwr posted, or you can just clip in the buckle looping the belt behind the seat back

the light stays on but the chime stops in 30-60 seconds. the only time you'll hear it is in the hot pit area, once you're on track running hard with your windows down, helmet on, you'd never hear it!

As acrvprc said, I just loop the upper part behind the seat and plug it in, sitting on the lap part. It's no big deal.
