    Exhaust on a 2005 Convertible

Can you use a Mopar Performance Parts Exhaust System Part number P4510176 on a 2005 Convertible, to eliminate the cross-over pipe and up horsepower some what. The kit states it is for the 2003 to 2006 coupe but I myself see no difference in the exhaust system. I would like to leave the cats on. Also if this could be used will it throw any codes to the computer ??? Thanks

I have this on my car. You will get codes. Fit is OK. Pipes are steel, not chrome or Stainless. Paint them in high temp black paint. Love the sound. I ditched the cats and later went to high flow cats. The V-band clamp fitting is just a flair in the non-cat turn out pipe. You have to work them to get a no leak fit.

I just purchased a Gen 4 take off for my '04 and it fit perfect with no codes or issues. Probably the easiest and cheapest way of getting rid of the cross over pipe if that's all your trying to accomplish.

The muffler itself on the Gen 4 looked identical to the muffler on my Gen 3, the only difference was the tubing from the cat's to the muffler if I remember correctly. I believe they sell that tubing in the after market... maybe ask Jon B at ViperPartsRack.com He seems to know and can get you just about anything you need for your car and he's an awesome vendor here on this forum!! He may know if the Gen 5 exhaust parts will work as well?
