    Anyone done this

So, thinking of a project for my 98 GTS. Wondering if anyone has done ported Gen 3 heads and intake on a gen 2, leaving the 708 cam in place? Trying to be budget minded, wondering what the results would be. 60rwhp? More, less?

    Thanks all

If you put the Gen 3 Heads on a Gen II Car you need to configure the bracket mounting for the Power steering pump.

I have a source that can weld up the mounting no problem. Just wondering what to expect power wise. I figured between the heads and intake, porting, gaskets, tuning I would be in the 5k range cost wise.

You can get ported heads and an intake for about $3K unless you want to build up your own set.

Headers another $1500, then gaskets, tuning, etc. Just trying to make sure it’s worth it. The old car runs pretty well the way it sits, just been this way for a long time and looking to spice it up a bit. Trying to decide if it’s better to just have Gen 2 heads ported or make the switch to the Gen 3 stuff.

If Gen3 is so minimal; why not do gen4/5 heads? I hear the 4/5 heads are amazing.
