    Nitrous Express Kit questions

    Hello everyone so after much debate I decide to purchase the NX kit from Torrie at Unleashed, I also ordered the purge kit and had it all installed.

    I also ordered and installed a programmable progressive controller from Unleashed just for peace of mind and if I ever wanted to do a larger shot in the future.

    Fastfoward to yesterday we get the car on the dyno (Apex Autowerks/Mustang Dyno) and start dialing in the NA tune since I have also installed AR headers (catless) and wanted Torrie to work with the NA tune and see what I am making. Once Torrie felt the car was dialed in we moved to the nitrous tune (jetted for 150 shot), started doing a few pulls but noticed that we kept loosing fuel pressure so we stopped. Has anyone else installed and tuned this kit? I see alot of people running a fuel cell with C16 or better but it was my understanding that the factory pump should be fine with a 150shot setup. Hopefully I can get this sorted and have the car back in a few days.

    You are borderline, contact Prefix, they have a drop-in fuel pump that should solve your issue.

    The stock fuel pump in the Gen 4/5 cars does not have a lot of headroom. Either get a stand alone, or as Jack B suggested, get a drop-in upgrade.

    Just spoke with Torrie again he told me that my car also was showing lower fuel pressure even without the nitrous in use. Does anyone have a photo of the NX kit installed using the fuel rail adapter? I am curious because mine is installed off the rail on the driver side and the directions with the NX kit specifically state to install it on the passenger side of the rail, after inspecting there is no possible way to install this on the passenger side what so ever.

    Also Torrie is now telling me that the low fuel pressure also occurred while no nitrous was being used so its more of a diagnosis question at this point. I keep circling back to the fuel adapter thinking that somehow its installed incorrectly causing this issue I just dont see anyway it can be installed on passenger side of the rail.....

    I have a tee fitting that goes between oem rail and the fuel line. This allows you to attach a fuel pressure gauge semi-permanent. How far does the fuel pressure drop at wot in 4th gear from approx a 40 mph roll.

    Off the top of my head the drop was 57psi down to 51psi I have to look again but it was considerable. Do you have a photo of your T fitting and exact placement?

    I will take a pic tonight. Just an opinion. if it is a consistent 6psi drop, that could possibly be tuned out. If it was only on the nitrous there are some other explanations.

    Totally unrelated, but was your car at glossworks in Thornwood, NY? I was getting my truck washed a while back and could swear your car was there. If it was, your car is beautiful!

    No not me I am in NJ but thank you. Hopefully I’ll have a chance to wash the car soon and take some photos with everything working properly.

    Has anyone ran a Boost-A-Pump on a GenV? I am thinking of wiring up a Kenne Bell BoostAPump so we can see consistent fuel pressure through the pull.

    The pump that prefix uses is a simpler solution. I will look at the schematic, but, I believe the PCM is at least partially involved in the oem pump actuation

    From what I am gathering the fuel pump is not PCM controlled. Do you have a link for the pump from prefix?

    Here is that fitting for measuring fuel pressure. It can be left on permanently if needed. I bought the fitting from Prefix.
