    2014 GTS 5k miles P2282 code

Hello all, I recantly about 3 weeks ago bought a used Dodge Viper. Last night while attempting a hard 2nd to 3rd pull, At the top of second, the car fell on its ass and started missing badly. Pulled over, shut the car off, and looked at the diagnostics. Showed a P2282 code “Air leak between throttle body and intake valves”. Tried restarting the car multiple times only to be met with the same missing, rough, weak idle.

Coincidentally this same day I had also went and gotten the mufflers replaced with straight pipes. Any help would be greatly appreciated

UPDATE: ENDED UP BEING A DROPPED VALVE AND POST IS CONTINUED ON https://driveviper.com/forums/thread...-motor-FAILURE

Check everything that bolts on or plugs in to your intake manifold. Throttle bodies, MAP sensor toward the back (passenger side), vacuum lines, etc. Chances are, a vacuum line may have popped off. The brake booster line is pretty easy to see, but there are a few under the front of the intake that aren't. You can see those if you scroll down a bit in this thread:

That's a starting point. If it isn't any of that, it's probably going to require a bit more looking/wrenching.

Best case, a leak somewhere in the intake system just like Steve M mentioned. Worst case, I remember reading about 9 mos ago, someone had the same issue. I believe a rocker arm shit the bed and prevented the intake valve from closing.

Wouldn't that also cause a P03xx misfire code?

I would think if it was anything mechanical, more codes would ensue?

Maybe, maybe not...the missing, rough, weak idle certainly isn't a good sign. Either the car has gone into limp mode (which would throw its own code), or you have a mechanical issue. Check the simple stuff first, but know full well you might end up needing to pull the valve covers and do some poking around there too.

Called viper exchange here in Tomball where I bought it from. Going to have it towed to them. Everything seems to be tight and secure.

That sounds like a solid plan. Hopefully it is something simple.

That's the one! I oogled over that car for weeks. Were you able to get them down on price? PM if you don't want to share in this thread.

    Beautiful car.

Same color as my interior. I am so in love with the black/tan combo. I had no idea before I went to buy mine that it SRT had this combination. I just thought you could only get the seats in tan. It looks soooo good.

Keep us in the loop...I'm interested to see what the issue is. Thanks!

I'm interested as well. We all need to keep each other informed as these cars start to age. Hard to believe my car is 7 years old now.
