clutch pedel 95 gen 1

has anyone had issues with the clutch pedal bushing and retaining clip. my retaining clip broke. bushings are still available through Dodge but no luck with the clip. I am worried a new one would break again. I was thinking about drilling a hole through the shaft and put a hitch pin through with a washer. has any one had this problem and how did you fix it.

I have the bushing and e-clip on the brake connection. But the "birdcage" on the clutch. Thinking it would be a good idea to have some spare birdcages. Anyone have the Mopar part number ?

My 98 viper (11/98) came with hair clips on both pedals....no birdcage. Was there a engineering change at some point?

Chrysler seems to have swapped back and forth throughout the years. If you have the birdcage, replace as soon as possible. Mine (2003) failed in the middle of rush hour traffic...

It sounds like the bushing actually is prone to crack and is important to proactively replace before it fails. I read old threads on this forum and others that the e-clip is a PIA to R&R. And not sure I can contort my old body and with Sr. eyes install the e-clip. The "birdcage" appears to be an easy push on install. But I agree the metal clip would still be preferred.

That said I think I will order 2 each of e-clips ,"birdcages" and bushings. Found the "birdcage part # as Hydraulic Clutch Actuator Bushing - Mopar (4643448)

that's what I ended up doing is drilling a hole through the shaft and installed new birdcages and hitch pins. atleast if the birdcage wears out the pedal will stay on the shaft
