Side view mirrors interchangeable

Are the side view mirror units between gen 4 and gen 5 interchangeable ? They look the same in pictures. Plugs look the same too.

Not 100% sure but I believe they are. It was one of the things they did to try to keep costs down, at least that is what I read somewhere.

I believe I read somewhere GEN 2 thru 5 are all the same.

If that's true than Plymouth Prowler mirrors will work too! All the old Gen 2 racers used the Prowler mirrors as they were much sleeker, less drag.

If we go by when the mirror was first used Gen1-4 are Mitsubishi 3000gt / Dodge Stealth mirrors. Gen5 looks different to me.

I don’t think they are the same. My door mirrors are off the car right now. I’ll stop by the whop later this week and compare them to a Gen5.

Gen2 mirrors are the same as a Stealth/3000GT, but not the same as a Gen3/4.

A friend of mine used a Challenger mirror on his Gen5. If he hadn’t told me I would have never known but once he said it, it did look different.

Maybe interchangeable, but the base is longer for Gen5. I think the mirror pod itself is the same.

Yeah, looks like it may sit a bit drooped. This was my conclusion when I was in search of a set of mirrors to paint black. I ended up buying a set of Gen V mirrors off eBay, but they were waaay more pricey than the Gen 3/4 mirrors. I have yet to get around to painting them and mounting them though.

Knowing what I know know, the Challenger mirror looks more like a golf club driver head even more so than the Gen5 Viper.
