APR Aero Installed on my GTS

Good evening everyone! This is my first post on these forums... I need to get more active on here!

I just finished throwing the APR Carbon Fiber Aero (Wing and Splitter) on my Gen 5 GTS and figure I'd share some photos/thoughts up for anyone else who is considering. BIG thanks to @ACR-ISH for the direct order through APR, and all of his help with the install.

The wing is extremely high quality, the carbon and clear coat job was perfect from top to bottom. The wing/mounts came pre-drilled and all of the necessary hardware (and even tools) were provided. They also provided detailed instructions + photos; if followed to a T, it should provide a perfect end result. The stock hatch struts are basically useless with the APR wing in place - I installed a set of ACR struts which were also useless... use ACR-E struts or bust!

The splitter was not so easy stepped... it did not come pre-drilled and did not include any hardware that I would recommend using. For the install of the splitter, I put a little grease on the factory under-tray bolts and then tapped the splitter into place - then dropped and drilled holes where grease dots were left. The splitter rods they provide do not utilize the factory chassis mounts - they are universal and would require you to drill into the bumper/grille. I do NOT recommend anyone to use these. I ordered a set of brackets & rods from Doug Shelby Engineering (DSE) which were extremely high quality and exactly what I needed - Doug was a pleasure to work with as well. With the added downforce, the car will rub/bottom out on anything other than ACR suspension - so I took the opportunity and added a set of BC coilovers and ACR sway bars. I have the coilovers set 3 clicks back from "max stiff" and they ride very nice, I'd say comfort is somewhere in the middle of "Street" and "Race" for you optioned guys... the car handles and drives absolutely amazing now. I enjoy driving it more than I ever have before!!

Let me know what you guys think!

Looks great! Did you go with the 71” or 74” wide wing?

Awesome. All you need is Pappy to help cut ACRE vents into the hood! Looks great. Price for both?

Looks good, which size wing 71" or 74"?
I have an extra decklid and considering installing one on the TA to help stabilize the rear on the track.

Yes sir, the instructions that came along with the bracket/rods made it as easy as it could be. I greatly appreciate your help!!!

Haha, drilling into the hatch hurt me enough - I'm going to leave the hood!
I paid a little over $4.5k for the setup + shipping

Looks great. Did you have to add any support to the under side of the hatch?

I did not, it did not suggest to add any on the bottom side. It just has some larger washers and a bolt. I have two friends running this wing also with no additional support, and no issues!

Thanks for being honest on the price. That sounds like a great deal. Many times people won’t be honest with costs.

4.5k to basically make your car look like an ACR is awesome!

That 4.5k included everything? Shocks, trunk struts, DSE components, and all the aero? That’s actually not bad then.

ACR/ACR-E look and function without the 50-80k premium. Not bad at all. Car looks great.

$4.5k for just the aero and DSE brackets / rods. The coilovers, sway bars and hatch struts was another $2k roughly

Thanks my friend! It’s just some tint film right on top of the lenses, same stuff people use to tint their taillights

Looks similar... but unfortunately still is not! I should’ve purchased an ACR from the start. May have a change coming in the future!
