Anyone that have installed Doug Shelbys Window Boss Kit

Trying to install Doug Shelbys 2003-2017 GEN III, IV, V Window Boss Kit but have run into an issue that I cannot figure out how to solve. I have managed to replace the forward boss but I cannot find a position of the window that will allow me to replace the rear boss. No matter how I set the window it seems impossible to reach both the outside and the inside of the glass at the same time. Any help would be very much appreciated.

In the picture it's the white boss that I cannot reach.

For that one I used painters tape to hold the rear in place, then did the opposite side letting the tape hold it while I threaded it on. This took a few attempts and LOTS of explicit language.

Side note: Window feels night and day different than before. Super solid, no play.

Why not take the window out? Should be 2 bolts in the rear and 1 clip up front.

Raise the window and there is a round hole in the door panel that you can slip the socket through.

Can't remember how I did it. It's doable... just a huge PITA.

Pearl back the weather taping, I think that’s you will expose the other boss through the door panel

I remember there being holes in the door for both, but the window had to be in different positions to do each. Like everyone above said...huge pain

I was able to do it without removing the window. It wasn't all that bad. I remember I had to readjust the window after I got one off so I could reach the other...was able to sneak my hand in there. Patience.

I finally gave up and removed the whole window. I should have done that from the beginning since it took me maybe 10 minutes to remove, attach the boss and reinstall the window. Lesson learned!

Are you all disconnecting the battery for this job? Is there any issue with having to re-calibrate the window to "learn" the closed position?

You have to connect the battery since you need to be able to raise and lower the window for access. I just put the window back checking the scratch marks from the bolts and it seems to close and open correctly. Next side I will use a marker to mark where the bolts where sitting before removing them.

That's exactly what I did. I didn't even need the marker...just looked at the scratch marks from the bolts.

I didn't break anything so hopefully it should just snap back into place.

it should snap back fine, but I replaced all of mine when I did the bosses as they are cheap to replace and some of them did not look like they were in the best shape after removal
