How to remove door latch cable

I'm removing my door panel but cannot figure out how to disconnect the door latch cable from the door trim? It's sitting in a slot (see pic) and I can get it to move around a bit. But I cannot pull it out of the socket! Is there a secret trick on how to do it?

I ended up having do work with the damn door panel still attached because of this. Could just get it to slightly move but I could tell it was going to break so just left it attached. Total pain in the ass

Yes, and I bought the workshop manual but it leaves out a lot of important stuff, including how to disassemble this... I searched this and other forums to find out how to remove it but no luck!

I would try sliding a very small jeweler's screwdriver down both inside slots on the cable attachment. I'm thinking there is a set of spring like locks in there.

It looks like it's the same as a gen 3. The H thing that slides into the panel has a tab. The front of the H has a tab that locks it in place. I place a small pick under the H, door handle side, pry it towards the door release and pull it out at the same time. After removing it a few times, I just pull up with pressure on the cable on both sides. Hope this helps. Hard to explain without a picture.

You are correct sir. Though I didn't understand until I completely removed the assembly. The tab has to be pried from the underside back the same direction the cable goes. I post I pic below for reference. However, now I have another problem but I will make a new thread about that since it's not related
