Uconnect center screen goes blank won t load Help

So I know there's lots of complaints on the Uconnect system, and I've just about had it with these issues on my '13. I've already performed the update back a few months ago, to try to fix the random rebooting issues it was having. (That didn't fix the issues btw). Now, it's completely dead, I get the SRT splash screen for a couple seconds and then it just goes black and doesn't come back. The backup camera works fine, so the screen works, but the firmware seems to be corrupt or faulty. Sometimes the SRT screen appears and just hangs there forever, never going past it. And sometimes it just goes black.

Short of trying to find a competent dealer in the area, is there any fix anyone knows of for getting the screen to come back to life? Anyone seen this before?

    Frustrated!

Well that sucks. Hopefully they've gotten better since then. I'm worried the car isn't under warranty anymore. Ughhh....

You could always contact these guys and upgrade to a head unit with Apple and Google Car Play. I think on 13s and 14s though you lose the SRT Performance pages whereas you don't on 15-17s.

Make sure to give them your VIN. If you do they will reprogram the unit to show Stryker instead of the Hellcat symbol. I'm not sure if they can do this on 13 and 14s though. I think just 15-17. I guess they must be using a head unit from a Hellcat. Also did you ask whether the unit will try and do auto updates? I wonder what happens if it does. I also plan to order but did want to get the question about updates answered. Too many OEM Viper radios appear to get bricked when they go through updates. The installation video is top notch by the way. Best installation video for anything I've ever seen.

I have that system in my factory JL Wrangler and love it. Google maps, Waze etc up on the screen is great.

Wow, thanks for the link! Didn't know that existed. I will consider that if Dodge dealer tells me I have to pay to replace it with the same Uconnect junk.

FYI they now don't guarantee performance pages on any years. It used to be 13-15 did not get the pages but 16-17 kept them. They now say all of them don't. May be related to the bug where uconnect expires and people lose pages, on these radios it's impossible to get them back if you lose it.

As a note there is a national backorder on radios across all model years. Radio bricking has went up god knows how much between Failed Dealer flashes and failed OTA updates. I nearly had a bricked radio if i didn't notice my radio was updating upon leaving the car even though I denied the OTA update upon starting the drive. A dealer bricked my radio and I had to wait over a month to get one even with an FCA case to expedite a radio.

Wow, that is too bad. I just looked at their website again and you are correct. I know the last time I looked the Performance Pages worked on later years. This kind of really sucks as I was looking forward to upgrading with Apple Car Play.

I just got my new radio installed after the dealer tried to apply an update and it bricked. Waited 1 week on FCA to confirm warranty replacement and another week to receive/install new radio.

If your dealer were to attempt an update to the radio without the car still being under warranty and the radio were to get "bricked" who would pay for that?

In my case, FCA did but they weren't going to initially. Didn't take a whole lot of effort to fight them on it though. I was mostly pleased with how they handled the issue.
