New owners 2000 Viper RT 10 Detroit Michigan

    Hello,

Picked up our 2000 RT/10 in May 2019 with 45k miles. Its all stock. Not goona do much to it. Just added a better sound system and I plan on just lowering it soon. Not going to do any engine mods or track it. Just gonna cruise!!!

Took out factory radio and speakers, saving them. Put in a new poineer radio and speakers. Rockville 8 inch sub under the passenger seat. Sound system its great now with a lots of highs, mids, lows notes and bass. But when you ride with the top off.. All you hear is the roar of that engine.. Like music to my ears..

Can't wait for spring to get back out driving.

Congrats on the new to you ride! I'd make sure you look into getting some new tires as well. They appear to be the original tires. Jon B from partsrack might be ale to get you some new rubber. Once again, CONGRATS!

So Bruce , which one of your old cars, as some of us know you have had quite a few ........oh, whoops, I guess you meant one of your old Vipers, ha.

Actually, I just remembered your RT-10 was the machine you had to run 85-90 mph to keep up with some of us at the first NVE ,plus you ripped around the oval at Chelsea at 130+ mph. I think that machine might have changed your life since you no longer seemed to just admire your Viper as a garage queen. So you can be one of the first to tell this new Forum member that the Viper can change one's life, even when they are already a super devote and knowledgeable MoParphile . Time to PM them and give them some personal stories of how much fun they are going to have in the next few years.

Great eye's. When I bought the car the lug nut locks were on. However they did not have the lug nut lock key. So I had to take the vehicle to the dealership and have them remove the lug nut locks. In those pictures I was waiting for the set of lug nut locks to come in.

Yes they were original tires the Michelin Pilot Sports. Which they do not make anymore. So I am looking for new tire. As the rear tires are getting a little bald. Lol

I bought 4 Toyo Proxes R888R from Jon B. They are DOT approved and can be driven on the street or track. Very sticky tire. Great for street runs too.

Thanks, yes you get a lot of attention when you drive the Viper. The thumbs up you get while driving. When your car is parked at CVSor getting gas it gathers a crowd. People wanting to take pictures of it and by it and talk about it. Since I'm here in Detroit, I get a lot of people who say they use to work at the plant the Viper was built at..

Always fantastic to hear , because when occasionally we get some negative folks on the Forum , we need to remind them of exactly what you are going through -- -park the Snake anywhere and it draws a crowd. Can't say that this ever happened much with many of my other zillion machines over 50 years.

Check with Jon B. but would suggest a set of Michelins over the Toyos , which are a DOT Competition tire, as they will ride better, wear better, and are 100% better if you ever get caught in the rain.
