Official Gen 5 Price History Thread

Seems like once a week there is a thread "How much do you think my Viper is worth?" or "Do you think this car is a good deal?" I'm thinking it would be better to have a thread where we could post the details of sales that we know took place so that people could easily do their own research. Something like this:

    Date Sold: January 2018
    Where Sold: Barrett Jackson Scotsdale
    Year of Car: 2017
    Model: GTC ACR-E/TA
    Mileage: 125
    Color: TA Orange
    Price: $231,000
Options: TA Steel Brakes, TA Interior, TA Orange, 12 Speakers, #5 of 10.

    Date Sold: September 2019
Where Sold: Barrett Jackson Las Vegas
    Year of Car: 2017
    Model: GTC
    Mileage: 20
    Color: GTS Blue/White Stripes
    Price: $110,000
    Options: Laguna Leather Interior

    Date Sold: September 2019
Where Sold: Barrett Jackson Las Vegas
    Year of Car: 2017
    Model GTC ACR-E
    Mileage: 412
Color: Brilliant Black/GTS Blue Center Band
    Price: $176,000
Options: Carbon Fiber X Brace, 18 Speaker, Carbon Fiber Exterior Package, Full Suntek PPF, Ceramic Coating, Carbon Ceramic Brakes

    Thoughts?

This should be an interesting thread by the end of the coming week , as the last Sales of Vipers at BJ will be over and hopefully someone will also post the results from Russo and Steele too.Drew Alcazar ( Russo and Steele CEO ) has always been a huge fan of the Viper , so who knows what could happen at the other big event in Scottsdale this Arizona Auction Attraction for Autophiles?!

Love this idea but I feel like we are bound to see a lot of my friends cousins half uncle once removed bought one back in 2016 for 58 grand but I cant show any proof or details beyond hearsay.

Think a moderator should really limit submissions to either new owners posting the details of their purchase or the previous owner sharing the sale they made or televised or dealer provable sales if we hope to keep the thread informative and helpful.

Sorry for lack of punctuation. It still deletes parts of a message if you use certain punctuation from mobile.

Yes, I'm thinking that only sales that are first hand by a poster or sales where the price can be proven - Barrett Jackson, eBay, etc.

Love this idea and agree some sort of filter/standard should be used to keep it accurate.

Fine idea for a thread however you are already basing the first data set with outliers.

Price is going to be completely dependent on model, options, mileage, condition, location, etc. I think you are going to quickly discover it is a wide range

We should also keep in mind that a dealer purchase vs a private sale will skew the numbers as well. Especially cars from VE.

That's why I included where sold. If it says VE or BJ you'll know the price is probably on the higher side.

So the point is to list the highest price paid for a particular model that is known apparently?

No. We should capture all the sales that we can document. This information could then be used to give people an idea of what the market is. Discounting of course sales at BJ Scotsdale. My plan would be to go through Mecum, BJ, and other sites and eventually capture all of their Gen 5 sales.

Too many models, too mamy variables, seasonal cyclicality, options, condition, just way too much to see any usefulness here. Great idea but impossible to effectuate. That said, there are several of us that follow values closely enough that can give a pretty good ballpark number for most of what people ask for around here.

Maybe try tracking just final year LE's like GTSR's first?

    2014 Stryker Red GTS
Sold in 2018 at Barret Jackson for $70,000
Was listed on here, Viper Alley, VCA, for $145,000.
Owner was grade A ahole, and deserved the bath he took.
I think VE. Bought it and relisted it for 110,000 and sold it.

Pretty sure seasonal variables can be figured out by the dates posted for the respective transactions

Possibly a GT/GTS thread and a TA/ACR/FE thread or how ever it makes most sense, would make it easier to people to find exactly what they are looking to evaluate?
