Shift Lever Isolator is it needed at all

Looking at various shifter options for my 2015.

Does anyone know how important that is? Has anyone removed it, did it cause shifting issues, or crazy vibration in the shifter?

Some shifter kits that lower the shifter have you take it completely off and not replace it, example: http://www.specialtyperformanceteam....and-2-p160.htm

A lot of the G2 aftermarket shafts did not have them, I never noticed any diff from oem.
