    Choose a number style

Well, I've now gone further down the rabbit hole and purchased a pretty serious vinyl cutter to do up decals, abstract stripe patterns, numbers, etc.

Want to do somethign on the side, but need to be very careful not to "go too far" and cheese it up.

I think I'll start off by cutting some small SRT decals for the lower valence, and some numbers for the side. I chose 53 to pay homage to the '98 Le Mans winner.

What do we like better? Top, mid, or bottom?

I like 1, but could you try the number in a dark gray or black?

#1, but I'd do it in black.

I would center the number on the door, no roundell. I might also outline the numbers in black instead of silver. Leave the numbers themselves in silver though.

the SRT looks great. i'm not a fan of numbers but if u must, the first one looks best imo, maybe move the number more towards the front of car another inch or 2 away from the door gap?

I think they all look great. Personal preference on going with the meatball or not is up to you!

    Agreed.

How about something more creative? Added strips, checkered pattern, black and white American flag on the roof, etc

Scott, this is along the lines of what I was thinking also.

You've been experimenting with customizing the car's appearance for quite a while, continue to try different things, and since you've now bought a vinyl cutter I'm thinking you're not planning to stop anytime soon. If I'm right the tame numbers will satisfy you for only about an hour. It feels like you may be creeping towards something more creative. Embrace your creativity and let it off the chain! The Viper is a great canvas to let loose on. I think I'd avoid straight lines due to the car's curves, and go a little more organic and abstract. Maybe place the number on a waving checkered flag that morphs into a flowing pattern kind of idea. Play around with bold for a while to see how you feel about that and then reign it in a bit if it doesn't feel right.

Otherwise I'm down with #3 as straddling the 2 panels looks more interesting.

#1 looks best. Very classy. You already have enough black: wheels, sills, strakes, fender louvers, etc. The back dot would be too much. Reminds me of ricers.
Move the number forward 2-3inches. Vertical placement is perfect.
The 5 could be mistaken for an S. Maybe try a different font.
Thin black outline: maybe. Jury is still out.
    IMHO

    BEAUTIFUL RIDE
