    Original owner of 650R

    Hi all,
I am in a process of buying 1997 Hennessey Venom 650R blue with white stripes and trying to track down the original owner. The Hennessey plaque says #17 and it was crafted for Ken Meade. Does anybody know anything on this car or the original owner?

    Thank you
    -G.

+1. The Venom cars were a disaster from a support standpoint. Hennessey did not stand behind his work.

Don't know the original owner but I'm surprised nobody peeled off the plaque since it lowers value to most in the community that know about all the lawsuits.

It was built with the money from the original owners of #14, 15 and 16.

Daaam... does everyone hates the Hennessey cars that much? I understand that he did some shady stuff with few but I was under the impression that the rest were quite impressive builds.

He's been rebuilding his rep for a good while, but he burned quite a few people back in the day. This was a popular meme back before the term was even invented:

    After lawsuits, yes.

I actually have nothing bad to say about my Venom 600. I've owned it for less than a year and I have no complaints regarding the build.
Although, I did call Hennessey to get some info on the engine upgrades and they were completely useless as a resource. I guess you can't expect a Texas, started in a garage, operation to keep any records or be any type of resource for second or third owners. In any case, my NA Venom RT/10 put down 500 wheel horsepower on 91octane pump gas, even though one of my cylinders has compression of 100psi, and two others are around 135.
