What happened?
Friend hydroplaned into a wall in my car lol. i had a tune through the guys in Tomball. this is the original ecm that i dont need now. lol
So what Model Viper did you replace it with or did you just get it fixed? If you got a Tune which Warranty would cover that if something happens to fail? I've heard so many different stories about guys having tunes done & I've also been told if you do Anything (tune, headers, just minor stuff it will VOID your warranty) & I have one of the Best with the Mopar Warranty, I will Never Track mine or Drag race it but I'd like to have at least a Tune, I don't even care about adding headers just a TUNE! Lol, is that asking too much!I just couldn't imagine screwing up my warranty over a Mod that is SO Minor! SMDH
I believe they would, according to the Magnusson law, have to show that the mod you made caused the problem. For example, if you tuned your engine and a window regulator failed it would be hard for them to show cause and effect and they would have to cover the window regulator. On the other hand if you put a tune on your engine and then burnt a valve they may be able to show cause and effect. The three people that were on here that initially had their warranties voided because of the Arrow controller did eventually get satisfaction from FCA when their bearings failed. Bearings when they fail show telltale signs of why the failed - debris, detonation, etc. By looking at the bearings you could tell they failed due to debris, a known issue with early Gen 5 engines. I believe Dick Winkles, who designed the Arrow controller and who used to work for SRT, looked at the bearings and could tell what caused the failure.
I have had mods on my 2015 TA 2.0 - headers, Arrow controller, under drive pulley, stainless steel brake lines, catch cans, etc. Never had a problem denied under warranty. It might also depend on the dealer you go to.
This is my stock ecm, the tuned one was on the totaled car. no i have not replaced and do not believe i will be in a viper this go around. so i want to sell this and need to know who would want and about how much it would sell for...![]()
