    Gen 1 92 Leaking FPR

So my 92 needs a long time cranking before it starts. Unless I turn the key ignintion on/off 3 times so the fuel pump builds up enough pressure. So I think someone here concluded it is a leaking FPR.

I have no experience wrenching on these cars, so first of all I wonder where it is located. Secondly, where can I get a replacement FPR, what are my options?

    Thanks.

My 96 RT had the same issue. I built one of these and all is well. Turn the key one click FP turns on for 10 seconds (which is what I set) and it fires right up. It’s pretty easy.

I have the FPR's if anyone needs them. I have also found out how to convert your fuel pump module into a new later type.

Hi, thanks all. Just the info I needed. Common issue and not critical.

I've read a lot about leaking FPRs in general, and that it causes a lot of other bad stuff to the engine and so on. But if it is just the return valve inside the FPR that leaks, and no other issues, then it's not nearly as bad as what I read a really faulty FPR can do.
Replacing the unit well that sounded like a nightmare in our case, so won't bother with that. Might try the Primer Timer though, sounds like a good workaround.

    Thanks again

For about $50 it’s worth a shot. It’s also pretty simple to install. Just be sure to read that thread thoroughly.
