    Highest Mileage Gen V Viper

I've seen some recent threads with people having impressive mileage on their vipers (50k, 60k). It seems these cars are super durable, easy to work on, easy to drive often, and people are in turn using them more. Apparently its good for the car also? All this got me wondering does ayone know who has the highest milage on a Gen V Viper so far?

You beat me too it. Last I knew of that car a year ago it was closing in on 90k and I figured it had gotten a few miles since then.

You literally just contradicted yourself with your post on another thread stating:

Do you mean that driving the car and putting miles on it will trash and rag it out? Do you think there is any way to put 40k or more on and not trash it?

What's more impressive than 70,000 miles is 24.5 MPG average????? How the crack did you manage that? You got a 0.25:1 6th gear?

Never understood why with Vipers so many seem to equate miles to being abused or wore out. I've recently become aware that my obsession with keeping all my cars showroom condition just equates to the next guy getting a flawless car and me netting an extra few grand during the sale "...not worth it". I will admit, the Viper is the hardest car I've ever owned to just relax and enjoy the ride. But the older I get the more I realize that life is to short to count the miles.

Now, driving in the rain... that's a different story lol. I'm no crazy person

I was like this when I was younger, My dad pulled me aside and said "Why are you saving it for the next guy?" I have lived my live by the words ever since. Most people try to preserve their toys, instead of play with them. I understand its a lot of money, but you only live once. Hard use no abuse!

    P.S.
I wouldn't drive my viper in the rain either, I take one of the other ones lol

2015+ has the less aggressive 6th gear and something like 21-22 mpg on EPA sticker, and if you drive slow enough you can get even better mpg.

24.5 mpg is almost impossible. Maybe his is an SRT with the track pack, so lightest wheels, two piece rotors, no aero either.

The best i've avg when i got the car setting the cruise control UNDER 70 mph was something like 16/17mpg.
    Mine is a '15 averaging 13.6mpg LOL

Drove home from Amelia Island (871 miles) with a friend and he hypermiled it. The trip average we got was 20.1 by the end and we tried our hardest. Unless that 24.5 figure was after resetting the counter and rolling down a hill, that's bananas.

Had a bet once with a friend who had a Gen 3 vs my Gen 4, I got 26.5 MPG on interstate, 6th gear, doing speed limit and no sudden changes, I won the bet and he bought lunch. Your Gen 5s have 3.55 diff gears and I had 3.07, big difference in fuel mileage.

It’s a 2015 GT. No aero. Didn’t use A/C (except when I was in TX), was by myself, only had a duffle bag with me in the trunk. Had just changed all fluids, air filter, and put 4 brand new Corsa’s on. Car has Sidewinder 2 wheels on. I couldn’t believe it either. The whole trip I stayed in the 70-75 mph range.

my avg mpg is 16.5 and I have a 2013. Just put the screen on mpg and make it a game to learn the best throttle positions and speeds to get the best mpg. I can cruise at a mpg exceeding the 19 mpg EPA sticker for the pre 2015s if you drive 70-75.

when i first bought the car over 2 years ago with 3100 miles, its avg was 9.8mpg lol.

You're doing it wrong Danny. The lower the better. 9.8 is amazing. And I thought my 11.1 overall average was impressive...
