Had a chance to attend the Hilton Head Concours last weekend and was able to participate in a really cool session at which Roy Sjoberg, Herb Helbig, Dick Winkles and Ralph Gilles described the Viper development and many, many inside stories as to how the program came to be. Lots of Vipers on hand including the original Viper RT 10 design car from 1989, the first 92 Viper RT 10 mule and the 1 of 1 Carroll Shelby 97 GTS. Many others as well. These cars are incredible crowd pleasers as we know, but even among some pretty elite cars at the concours, they draw big attention. It was a great weather day and pretty cool event overall. Most of you may have had a chance to meet these guys, but if not it is a fascinating window into how the big auto makers develop programs and take imagination to the streets.
