GEN 5 Valve Covers On A GEN 4

I got a killer deal on a GEN 5 Intake Manifold than I plan on installing on my GEN 4. I believe the Valve Covers are also interchangeable between a GEN 4 and GEN 5 "bolt pattern" to head. My question is are the Coil Packs and how they mount the same?

I have a extra set on Carbon Fiber Valve Cover Covers laying around and I was thinking of just purchasing a set of GEN 5 Valve Covers to be able to mount them on my GEN 4. Because the top mount is already on the GEN 5 intake to be able to mount the GEN 5 Valve Cover Covers.

I have both GEN's sitting in the garage I just haven't had time to take the GEN 5 apart to look at it. Also with the wealth on information that is on this forum. I thought I would ask and perhaps be informed of any other differences or things that I mite need to address.

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

You will need the full gen 5 valve covers(below the beauty covers). I had my entire top end(heads, IM, pcv, valve covers and carbon fibre beauty covers) switched to gen 5 when prefix built my engine. So at minimum, you will need to swap the valve covers below the plastic beauty covers as the oil fill is different location on gen 5.

While everything does fit engine wise, the carbon fibre covers along with the oil fill cap hit the hood. I have clearanced my gen 4 hood to fit and can post pics later.

Did prefix build you a GEN 4 motor?
How far did you go with the build and what did you end up with power wise.
Did you lose any drivability with the build I am assuming this is a street car is it not?

It’s a pure street car, have done a few 1/4 mile track runs but other than that just street pulls. It’s a prefix 9L xtreme, dyno’d 718whp on a green motor. Very street able .

10.5@138, terrible 1.8 60'. DA was around 3800. Definitely has a low 10 in it, track prep was non existent and was just spinning like a bastard. Ill try again next year at a private track day when its not too shit.

Awesome trap speed, especially with that DA. I haven't fared much better in the 60' department. No 10 second slip for me yet, and not for lack of trying

I have since removed the carbon covers and ran without them for the summers only modifying for the oil cap so far. I have a Cf hood I’ll modify instead of completely gouging up my Gen 4 hood.
