New member looking to be a new owner

Hey Folks! Checking out this Viper thing. I got married in a red Viper back in 07 - true story. Las Vegas - yup I'm a romantic, and opted for the drive through. I'm still married, so how bout that!

At the time I owned a C6 that I picked up from the NCM in 06, but rented a Viper for the drive through. A lot of folks like both American cars - self included, obviously. This is also true - the Gen 3 Viper had GOBS more torque than my old c6, just honest. It was insanely (almost scary) FUN! I live in the TC, and my uncle has a Mamba. I'm in the process of looking for a Gen 3. I love that look and the price! I'm not too thrilled about the color selection, wish they had gen 5 colors, but I'd probably wrap it. Joined to learn some more about the Gen 3 and wrapping. There is currently a silver SRT10 in WI for sale that I'm eyeballing, but I would wrap, so came on here to learn about wrap, and to learn the "quirks" (DeMuro fan) from you guys that own them.

I'd love to buy a gen 5 ACR but it's just a bit too rich for my blood, as I do want to get another c6 as well.

Thanks for having this cool resource! Yes, I do agree with the fact - Vipers are MUCH more rare than Corvettes, obviously, which does make the car more fun in that regard. Whenever I see one (except my uncle's Mamba) - I do gawk. It's really, really rare to see one here. Such AWESOME looking beasts!

Oh how I miss my Gen3. I had a Mamba... LOVED IT. The interior was the deal sealer. I wasn't a fan until I saw one with a regular black interior. Then the Mamba really popped for me. If you can squeeze a Gen5, it would be much closer to the creature comforts of the your C6. FYI, the Gen4 is the same body style but received a 100HP bump, new hood and GPS (among other small items)... so it's a bit closer, but a bit more expensive. In my opinion, more worth it.

Honestly... you can't really go wrong. Buy what you love. Wraps are a good idea, they protect the paint and look awesome when done right. Here's my Gen3 before and after, as well as my Gen5. Thank you guys! Will do! I will call Larry. I'm almost certain my uncle Ed is a member as well. He goes to Viper club events. Viper is so much more exclusive, if you will, and as you know. He bought his '05 black Mamba back in 06 as an new 05 and the darn thing still looks spanking new!

Those wraps look AWESOME on those beasts! Good gosh they look insanely fast just sitting there! Either of those cars would stop traffic in the Twin City metro here -true story!

Is there just rumor, or has FCA confirmed a new gen, given the reaction to the C8? Oh I'll ask Larry when I call. Internet always has "speculation" but is usually short on real facts. If I were on FCA's board that would be a no brainer INMO.

Thanks again guys! I will get signed up as a paying member. I always loved the Viper - true American MUSCLE!

Oh yeah and I totally know what you mean - I'd love to get into a gen 5. The interior is much more refined, obviously. Viper as you know was founded on ah hell we are going to build a pure sports car - we don't need no stinking a/c, first gen. HEHE! Thank you for the clarification on gen3 and gen 4 difference! I seriously wondered about that while scouring listings.

Gen 5's are right in the there in the base variety. I could pull it but would like to know if a gen 6 is in the pipe. If so I'd hold off and pick up a gen 5 a bit cheaper when the 6 is released. That play probably doesn't happen in the Viper world like Corvette, at least not as dramatic. Vipers are pretty darn rare! I have found some gen 5's in my league, but I just love the open top idea of the gen 3/4. We have like 2 weeks of Summer here so it's best to enjoy it fully! J/k

    Thanks again!
