The shocks are in great condition except the adjustment knobs. Looks like someone forced it to turn and broke some of the little pins in the adjuster assembly. I called Bilstein and they do not work on those. They said the dealership was my only option. The shocks, springs are in perfect condition. I will be visiting a machine shop soon to make me some replacement pins. I cannot believe how much these shocks cost.
I hope this is not bilsteins stance. I would escalate to someone else at bilstein and try and find a solution. Not the same, but I found excellent customer service with K&W for the g4 ACR, so I hope you just need to find the right person. This will matter for all you G5 ACR owners trying to keep your OEM parts at 100% later when the dealer says no more are available. For reference I was told I needed a rear and my only option was new and I about fell over with the cost of 1 shock let alone the lead time. I called and found the right person at the original supplier and had both rears rebuilt for a fraction of the price and in less than 10days turn around. Hope you can persuade bilstien to take care of their product.

well all I can say is bilstein isn't what they used to be in the factory run of the mill cars and trucks

Glad to see you guys offering a service to keep the OEM equipment working as well as offering alternatives. I still believe that the OEM providers who supplied parts for these cars during mfg. need to be an option. These companies sell aftermarket parts also and for anyone considering them need to look no further than how they support their product where they got designed in and made shit loads of money. In that case I guess they only cared about 1 customers and it wasn’t the person buying the viper....
Shock rebuilds should not be rocket science for any qualified shop. I recall that Ohlins USA would not only service my Ohlins motorcycle shocks/forks, but also any other brand. The key is having the tools and knowledgeable people.
The shocks do not need rebuilt. There are some little pins in the adjustment assembly that sit inside the blue and red dials. Someone forced it to turn and broke the little tit on the pin. I am going to have some made and will stock up on them. I bet it's going to be a common problem on acr shocks

I'm satisfied with the ACR factory shock configuration and performance.
From your experience, do you have a gauge of what ACR owners should expect in terms of service intervals on the OE shocks? I track ~20 hours a year and wonder how often I should plan to rebuild.
