    Sensor issues

Took the car for a ride. Came back and shut it off. Started it back up 5 minutes later and had a check engine light. Below are the codes. What am I getting into, replace sensor, fix a leak or what? Car is bone stock. 3100 miles. 2015. Thanks.

P219A bank 1 air- fuel ratio imbalance
P0327 Knock sensor 1 circuit low
    P0456 Evap System small leak

Had you just fueled before the drive that generated the codes ?

When in doubt, blame the battery !!

I do carry a code reader/code clearing device in Vipers. I everything else is OK I would consider clearing the codes, and then watching everything closely for next several drive cycles.

Others may offer more helpful insights.

Did not put new gas in. Opened gas cap just to see if anything looked unusual, nothing. Keep battery tender on it. Not sure if the codes are new or not, just checked at local parts store after cel came on. Seems like it was popping a little more than usual 2 weeks ago on decel when I had it out. Seems to run ok. Looks like a trip to local dealership soon.

The only PID that actually set the code was the knock sensor. The other two are pending which means they appeared once, a code is not set till the second occurance. I would clear them and see what happens

Strange.. maybe bank 1 air/fuel ratio imbalance was set by lazy 02 or 02 wiring shorting to ground? What did the dealer find?

Dealer won’t look at it until 10/31. My friend has a racing shop and we hooked up an expensive scanner and looked at the code and parameters. The data on bank 1 sensor was flipping back and forth between low and high. He said it was probably old gas and to run it low and refill it. I am wondering about putting ethanol free in it since I am having these issues? He said old gas would get a lot of water in it from setting. My local dealer does not like Vipers. New Vette, hello? Cleared codes, started it back up and all 4 codes came back up.

    Update

Ran it down to 1/8 tank till fuel light came on. Filled up with Exxon 93. Checked diagnostic in dash and it said unrecognized diagnostic code, no others. Not sure if 4 codes will come back up. Getting fed up. Lesson learned-never buy something that the manufacturer does not have a dealer base that can or wants to fix.

I have something similar on track. Car runs fine on track then when the car cools down I'm getting an unrecognizable code as well bank 1 knock sensor. Car is running just fine. No issues at all. Was this ever resolved?

It's just a simple low voltage on the knock sensor bank 1. It throws the code after the session when I restart the car. The car is running just fine for 20-30 min sessions at a time.

It's so weird the diagnostics says unrecognizable code. Lol.

I just saw this after a couple of years. Looking back, it was a combo of old gas and a bad battery tender. No more codes in 2 years and car is running great. Replaced battery tender and running gas out more now.

0456 was an interesting issue for me, after clearing code and refueling I can no longer get it to full line, I think the plastic vent hose next to the engine has thermally collapsed

Since I have come home from the track, I can't get the code to come back. I'm assuming it's my 7 year old battery. I honestly don't understand it, but for now its totally gone.

For others that might get this weird issue, it was not when I was lapping I got the code, it was when I shut off the car and restarted it after it cooled down.

If it pops up again, I'll update this post, but that's it for now.

Code popped up again, just the P0327.

Changed the battery and it didn’t matter.

Dropped it off at the dealership and they have to run the computer on it. It only throws the code when I shut the car off when it’s hot and turn it back on. Car feels fine. Weird.

Have you actually replaced the knock sensor?

No, but it’s a bad knock sensor. The exhaust needs to come out, time for some high flow cats and exhaust! 😬
