What are the recommendations for changing the power steering fluid?
I'm thinking it probably isn't a bad idea on a 2001.
What is the best way to do it? OEM fluid?

The current fluid for your Viper is "Mopar Hydraulic System Power Steering Fluid" 68234631AA. MS-10838 The fluid is clear.
"Turkey baster" method is well described on this site...found with a search. This is a dilution method for several cycles...simple, safe, effective.

Empty reservoir. I use a Mityvac. No claim to having invented that but way easier than kitchen method. Refill with fresh fluid. Start vehicle and slowly turn wheels lock to lock 3 to 4 times. Stop engine. Repeat procedure 3 more times. Top off final time. Secure reservoir cap. I use the factory fluid. Good for most cars. I do this procedure every 2 to 3 years.
