    New Guy

    Hello Everyone,

I just picked up a 2009 coupe with a handful of mods. The previous owner may be on here. I'm here to figure out how to get it to pass smog.

Run a Carfax and call the local chapter presidents.

Best way to get past SMOG is to move to a state where SMOG is a dirty word.

Yep! He poured his heart and soul into this thing. It's perfect.

And yes, it's because it has the MOPAR ECU. I'm not sure if the O2's are in or not, haven't had the chance to jack it up just yet. Hopefully I don't have to swap the stock exhaust every time I need to pass smog.

From the pictures I've seen, it looks like the post-cat O2 sensors are installed. See the pics in this post specifically:

I'm guessing the heat wrapped wires in the 2nd pic in that post are going to the O2 sensor.

It will never pass smog with the Mopar off-road ECU. 15 minutes to swap, but getting the stock emissions to read ready may take some time.

    I can attest to that!

    Stock ECU is required.
Then you might come across some info. about the "Dodge/Mopar Drive Cycle" process to get the 02 sensors to read READY.
I found this near impossible to achieve.. dangerous too on public roads.
I put a couple hundred miles on the car trying to execute the process. Never worked.
All you can do is rack up the drive cycles.

Congrats on the car and good luck!

Your signature says mopar ECU, plus other mods

You need to swap out to the stock ECU, clear all codes, then get the emissions system to read ready. Assuming you have O2 sensors in place

With the headers and stock ECU you will eventually trip a CEL. Use moderate throttle in every gear when u swap the ECU. Do not let the car bog in a higher gear
