    Nurburgring

Based on the following quote in another forum from Jim Mero, retired GM engineer and Corvette driver, I am going to assume the C7 ZR1 full lap Ring time that was never released by GM was a 7:04.

I have suggested putting the red C7 ZR1 in the Museum with both the Nurburgring and the VIR laps playing.
Completing a lap on the Nurburgring 6 seconds slower than my Industrypool segment times typically would not be something I'd be satisfied with, but under the circumstances the lap was run, I am proud to stand by it. How proud?"

Sounds about right. There's an article out there about why they could never get a good time down there, it's a very interesting read if you can find it.
The ZR1 ran a 2:39.5 at last years Lightning Lap (VIR), 5 seconds faster than the ACR time there.(2.44.2) No telling which car has the faster tire, the ZP's are incredible I use them on my AMG GTR. The ZR1 hit 164 there, the ACR only 150. It was only 1.7 seconds behind the might GT2RS, and beat the Performante, 720S, Ford GT etc, quite an amazing feat for a $130K car!

Makes you wonder why you don't see any C7 Z06s or ZR1s at the Ultimate Track Car Challenge.

The stars have to align. A top driver has to happen to have a new ZR1, and happen to want to take on the massive undertaking of getting out to VIR etc.

This is the kind of crap that keeps me from giving the ZR1 (or Z06) as much credit as it is probably due. Jim Mero was asked if he tested an ACR. His response is below. He throws out a blanket, unqualified statement that, in effect, the ACR cheated at the Ring. Then he backs it up with he watches competitors videos and he can tell how much HP their cars make. The ACR managed, for a split second, a top speed of 177.091 mph at the Ring - just what Dodge claimed with 645 HP. He relies on watching other folk's videos, but GM won't publish videos of their own. He whines about not having the right conditions (cold tires) and missing an Apex by 10 feet - I guess the ACRs had perfect conditions. Just sounds like sour grapes. The ZR1 is probably a pretty good track car, but not what it should be for the big HP - too heavy with too much mass up front. A lot of the C7 Corvette racers are going to the GS platform with Katech NA motors.

"Relative to obtaining an ACR, the answer is no. All I will say is I have a fairly reliable information where the ACR Nurburgring cars were "prepped".

Also, when videos from competitors are posted, I can use specific sections of the track to compare my car to any other car. Because I have 200 hundred channels of data from the car i am driving, including HP, we can reliably back calculate HP of most cars based on corner exit speed, known downforce, calculated drag, and elapsed time over a given section of the track."

Chevy is the biggest cheater of them all on track tests. Just look at the ZL1 1LE's ridiculous times they get with them, but in the real world are always slow pigs. Pappy you know Jason, he's got a 2015 GT3 and 2015 Z28. Chevy's lap times with the Z28 was FASTER than the GT3 those years, but Jason is 3-4 seconds faster in his GT3 than the Z28. They aren't even similar performance.

Az, this guy is pretty fast in his ZL1 1LE, I believe he's a former Formula Mazda driver:

The ZL1 1LE definitely punches above its class, this is a $75k car that can keep up with $150k cars on the road course. The guy has videos instructing in the ACR too.

That's about the same time Weld's TT1 Mustang was running. It would probably run low 1:40s with a little tuning and more laps. The NASCAR guys qualified in the 1:34s and ran a lot of race laps in the 1:39-1:40s. The ZL1 was pretty quick for its weight.
