Seatbelt airbag light help

I have a 2008 ACR. I'm going to be installing the Tillet seats next month (thanks DSE).

Is there a way to avoid the airbag and seatbelt light staying on? Fuse? Maybe pull the dash and pull those bulbs?

Nick, I do not know about the bag light

For the seat belt you can loop the factory belt behind the seat and clip it in. This assumes you are using 6 points with the Tillet

The seatbelt receivers are connected to the factory seat/bracket, so once the seats are gone, so are they.

Pull the bulbs. Dash/cluster on Gen 4 is a BIOTCH though... I was going to recommend against it in a street car for safety reasons, but sounds like it's a non-issue for your application. You can pull the SRS fuse, but it will likely disable the SRS system, not rid you of a gleaming yellow/orange light staring at you. Or just put a piece of black tape in front of it. That's what I did on my K7 race bike for my EFI light.

I'd hate to pull the bulb in case I ever sold it and forgot that the bulb was out... Might just find some tap.

That was my thought, too! I'd never sleep wondering if I put it back in... or worse; found it one day cleaning up the garage!

When I put a Cobra seat in then I lived with both those lights on. (Can't remember if the "chime" stayed on with the Cobra seat?)

Yeah. When I started running my 6-point I found some sequence of key turns, and/or buckle unbuckle motions, that turned off the light and the chime. Fingers crossed the chime is still out haha

If the belt (female side) is a two wire switch, you can most likely just jump it out to avoid the chime. If you know, or can find, the resistance of the squib for the side impact airbags in the seat, then a diode or resistor can be wired in for that to go off as well. Just depends how much sweat you want to collect in your sweat equity bucket.

Luckily, I own a Ford dealership and one of my techs was a certified Viper tech years ago..

The problem I think I'll run in to, is the seat belt female end is a two wire switch..however it plugs in to the large connector.

I may just have to use tape.

I don't think "Ford" and "lucky" are used in conjunction often unless it's: "Luckily I got my Ford started so I can sell it..." LOL j/k I'm a Ford loyal!

Have your tech make you a jumper. It's just a ground switch. Insert it. Tape it off. BOOM.

I don't think it'll work because the seatbelt plug goes in to the female end, then in to another connector, then in to the main connector for the airbag sensor, then in to the floorboard of the car.

Just do the tape...it's reversible, and pretty easy to get to unlike most of the rest of the interior.
