    Not fast enough

    I have a 97 Gen 2 GTS

It works great but it is not fast enough.

    Mods I have done:

    Cat removed
    3" catback
Heads ported with Serdi valve seats
027 head gasket head milled 020
    Kn filter
    Trend 3/8 pushrods
    Stock 3,07 diff
    Stock map

It have 420hp at the wheel now, before mods it had 385hp.

    Any recommendations?

Decide on a budget and desired hp level and report back.

Wanna be the first one in Norway with a Roe?

Might want to look at Diff ratio's?
People say 355 gears make the car feel much faster?

Where do you need the speed?
All out top end or 1/4 mile drag racing?

What brand of dyno were these numbers produced on - Mustang?

A '97 on a Dynojet should lay down between 410-420 with only filters and smoothies. You'd benefit from a quality set of headers, HF cats and some roller rockers even with the stock JTEC. A tune would be even better. I would expect 460-470 from the whole combo. I guess it's possible that your Euro JTEC is more restrictive.

    @GTS DEAN

Is not a dyno, I use a accelerometer. Have use it over 15 years on many many cars, it really works great.

With only kn filter I get 11hp
With 3" cat back and cat deleted only 9 hp
Heads ported and 027 gasket 21hp (stock valves) Yes intake valves is to small I know

426hp at the wheel is more correct. Is the difference I am looking for.

I have read many Us magazine/ internett, and every mods they do exemple a corvette c5 they gain everytime so much horsepower, much more than I can dream of.
Exemple My old C5, new Magnaflow rear exhaust every magazine say minimum gains 15 hp ++. I installed same exhaust system on my car and run it with my accelerometer and 0 hp was gained

    Sorry for my english

I'd suggest headers to complete your exhaust and take advantage of your ported heads. I have been very happy with my Belanger's.

Cam, gears, nitrous will have the biggest impact... And get some stickier tires

I make 475/520 on my own dynojet on 93 octane with intake, 5-1 headers, full 3" exhaust and tune. I have made pulls in winter and summer with very similar results. Tuning would have be very rich/no timing to be in the low 400's especially with shaved and ported heads

My 1995 Gen1 made 498 rwhp on Dyno Jet dyno, The mods were Greg Good ported heads, 708 cam, Gen 2 injectors, T&D roller rockers, Roe hi flow cats, Belanger headers and underdrive pulley.

Those sound like decent numbers for a relatively mild upgrade package. Curious how many hp the underdrive pulley contributed. If 5-10hp as advertised, pretty damn cheap hp

I can attest that 3.73's reallllllly liven this car up. It feels like a whole new best in acceleration and it makes 6th gear relatively usable.

Another thing to consider is how many miles you do per year. If you do a lot of touring then your fuel consumption costs will go through the roof with a Supercharger. if your car is just a weekend toy for blasting around on a Sunday morning then fitting a Supercharger will not be a problem.

Headers, roller rockers 1,7:1 and tune. After that diff ratio and then No2 if still needed. Statens vegvesen in Norway would not be happy with a Roe under the bonnet

Are you gonna go track it?
Because that makes a big difference imo.

    I haven't tracked a Viper with 3.73's, but here's my theory.

I'm running stock 3.07's and for a long time I wanted to change it. Then I tracked the car.
And the 3.07's is excellent at race track!
    Why?
Because the car has so much torque, it barely matters what gear you're in. Less gear = less shifting = more concentration on braking & corner entrance and exit.
What makes you fast on a track? High acceleration and medium average speed or medium acceleration and high average speed?
Doesn't matter if you exit a corner at 2500rpm, the torque will help you anyways.

After the track I decided I wont change my 3.07's for anything.
