Thoughts on this 2013 GTS on Carvana?

Hi everyone! This is my first post, and I'm excited to be part of this forum! I wanted to get your thoughts on this 2013 GTS I found on Carvana. I'm currently looking to get out of my C7 Stingray, and have been searching for only a few days. My only real hesitation here is that I am 6'6", and barely fit into my C7 as it is, and worry about not being able to fit in the Viper, so buying it on a service like this seems pretty sketchy at this point without first being able to sit in it.

    $81,900

I've never used Carvana before, and I have no idea what to expect from them. It looks like there's a 7 day return policy, but I imagine there's gonna be some delivery fees associated with this... There's also no way of knowing if this has passed the recalls, so how would one know if this is a good buy? The warranties are all expired, so I'm really not sure. Everything looks good on the outside (aside from some rock chips on the hood it says, but they don't show up in the pictures), and the Carfax looks clean.

Do you think this would be a good buy, or are there much better deals to be found?

    Thanks for your input!

It looks like the usual handful of recalls for the car were completed per Chrysler recall site. Most importantly, the R28 and R29 were done. You need to confirm that this car got the 10 year power train warranty that accompanied passing the R28...which can be done by asking a CJDR dealer to check the VIN.

Before you go to far...contact your local VOA region so that you can sit in a Gen V as you may/may not fit....even with the seat lowering kit.

    Where are you located?

Thanks for your response, Steve. I'm in San Jose, CA.

You are not gonna fit with stock seat on the lowest setting.

@Brantw, check out my 2015 Viper GT in classifieds. It's listed for significantly less than $81,900 and has 6432 miles. I'm 6'4" and have no issues fitting in the car.

You will definitely need to buy a seat lowering kit which are readily available and cheap.
The car seems like a very fair deal. If you like that color then buy it!
It says it has track pack too, which gets StopTech brakes from the factory

@Brantw Normandin has my ACR in the shop. It has the stock seat in the passenger and Tillett B6 screamer with a lowering kit in the driver side.
Not sure when they will be done, but imagine it will be there for most of August since I'll be out of town. You are welcome to sit in it after they finish their work. PM and we'll coordinate something with the shop.

Whether or not one ,"fits" in s Viper involves more than height and/or weight. Much depends on length of legs vs. height of body when sitting.

Fitting and ability to drive can be quite different as well..let alone comfort.

Hopefully, you can "try on" several different Vipers and come up with a workable solution. Fortunately, there are plenty of Vipers in your general location. Best of luck !!

    Def go sit in one.

I’m 6’4”, 195lbs, swimmer sort of build, evenly long through out. I’ve owned 5 vipers including 2 gen5s. I’ve used the seat lowering kit in everyone of them. Which was then fine, helmet was always juuuust clearing or slightly rubbing the roof liner.

At your height I’d sit before I buy.

Never dealt with carvana but have dealt with carmax a few times. Crazy you have 7 days with a car and can say no, don't know the details involved in doing this though. Price seems good, not a fan of the interior color but that's me. Agree on the track pack, this I don't have and wish I did. Regarding the seat height and your height. I'm 5 10" and the first thing I did was try to lower my seat height, but that's what all of us race car drivers do in all our cars LOL. Let us know what you do, best of luck!

with the 2 inch lowering kit you will be fine

Thanks for the responses everyone! I'm a little worried about the "Chips" Imperfection they have listed for the hood. Is this common on Vipers? It says it's only "Level 1", and it doesn't show up in the pictures, but I wonder how bad it really is. I guess that's the chance I'll have to take using a service like this.

I'm feeling much better with what everyone is saying about the 2 inch lowering kit!

    +1 on the lowering kit

I'm 6'9" and couldn't even sit in a Gen V until installing the lowering kit. It's still a little snug, but I make it work.

Kudos on your Viper love. My 2inch lowering kit is fine on the street but I’m still working a decent seating position for the track with my helmet on and I’m only 6’2”.
