Final assembly onto the brackets, fore/aft and incline adjustments made and ready for installation. Weight saved per side is 33lbs, 66lbs total including transfer of harness/buckle and addition of harness eyebolts. B7 left and B5 right.

Doug, is it possible to bolt a slider kit to the seat? Does b6 scremer xl bolt on to your seat bracket?
B5 available in full carbon?
No but it does have a carbon overlay option and you’ll never see the back anyway in a Viper. The B5 is almost as light as the full carbon B7 because there is less side material. The difference in the above setups was 2 lbs and the B5 passenger seat has the added occupancy emulator.

I am a new Viper GenV owner and have discovered your site and the nice jewelry you design and build.. i am not a track guy, but i will at some point buy a few nice bits, so on to my question, i find the seat height not the best being 6ft 1 and long in the torso, have you considered using this bracket design to make the seat position lower but retaining the factory slide mechanism and seat in some way? is that even possible?

Thank you Doug for working on this. It's built well and it is also very light. (For all other seats I installed in other cars, I always felt the base bracket would eliminate any gains you get from the lighter racing seat but not this one)
Just completed driver's side install with the slider. One thing I ran into, which may have been mentioned in instructions that I only quickly skimmed through, is that the Tillett sliders don't work without a spacer between the slider and the base bracket. I also thought the seat was reclined too far back even while using 2nd lowest front hole and the top rear hole and added more spacers to the under the slider at the rear side. I first tried without a spacer under the front side of the slider but i wouldn't slide and bind. After driving the car to work this morning, I could definitely feel a bit of movement which changed from annoying to almost none depending on the slider position. I also noticed garage fit tests and driving didn't match and now it feels too upright.![]()
I am hoping the play in seat is exaggerated due to thick spacers under the slider and as I am planning to reduce the thickness of these at the rear and see how it feels. If the annoying amount of play stays, I will remove the slider. I will post better pics later but below is how it looks everything mounted. (Please note mine is a GTS hence a lot more junk cables had to be zip tied.

I do believe there will always be a bit more movement of the seat with any slider compared to a fixed setup. In fact Tillett themselves do not recommend a slider-because of that- in race and track use. I assume you only want it for road use though. Hope you get it figured out though. Maybe with a selection of different size spacers for front and back maybe the tilt of the seat can be adjusted? I'm sure Doug will chime in.....
I do about 10 track days a year with this car so it does need to be sturdy enough. I wanted to give this a shot as we had a Tillett seat in my friend's Lotus Elise for a while with a slider which was fine. I am guessing this might be because Tillett has custom design for them being British and all. When the slider is just in the right spot, the movement is barely there but those positions were not really ideal for me. With the rear spacers reduced, I am hoping it might work out.
There are quite a few setups with these and every one so far has been a bit different. There are a few Tillett design details that could be improved such as slider needing to be shimmed and the front lower position not being an available option due to bolt clearance.
As stradman said and I’ve suggested in the past the slider isn’t recommended for the track. This said, I would not recommend spacing or shimming it any higher than necessary (a washer perhaps). I would also be concerned about unevenly spacing it front to rear because the slider won’t sit flush on the bracket and will only be contacting in small areas. This will add instability and put more stress on the bolts. Also I’d find your driving position front/rear and center the slider as close as possible to that. That’s when it will be strongest.
I know I started off inclining the seat forward but ended up with it even f/r. Maybe instead of a spacer you could drill a higher rear hole in the side bracket (sharmut has done this I believe).

I believe a slight shim is needed if using the slider. It's to allow clearance for the slider's locking mechanism to unlock. Otherwise, the lock contacts the seat's side bracket and won't release.
Doug suggestion to position the slider on center between the top and lower half of slider worked for me. With the slider in this position it reduces the amount of play within the slider between it's upper and lower half. Even in this central position, there is still some play although considerably less. What I found while on track you don't notice any play when you're strapped into a harness.
