While I've not installed them on Vipers, I have on previous track cars. If the car is equipped with ABS, you'd install two (one for each of the front brake lines) between the ABS unit and calipers. Then you just wire them to a switch or button. Most have two wires (power/ground). When you want to use it: step on the brakes, flip the switch to complete the circuit or hold the button (this will hold the current brake pressure to the front brakes), take your foot off of the brake, and when you're ready to launch, put the car in gear/rev the car to your desired rpm (or if you have a soft limiter in place, hit that), flip the switch back or let go of the button and off you go.
are they fully sealed? no chance of getting line in the system after they are in stalled properly?
Have been thinking about doing this for my track car for years.
Here's how I did them on my turbo S2000:
@Topplayer, they are run in series between the abs unit and calipers and are sealed. No problem with leaks on my setup.
Question, Why? I do not believe there is any good option for bias ply slicks

They have to be fully sealed for them to work at all. As long as it is not engaged, it is just a pass through for the brake fluid.
Although not for a Gen 5, you can reference these threads:

Going to do a photo shoot in my buddy's workshop with drones and multiple cameras etc.. And want the car to stay put while i'm doing the burnouts- will be securing the car to the ground from underneath also to prevent side to side movement.
Thanks for the input fellas.
On line locks I've installed (not Vipers), I've always used a momentary switch. The reason being is a line lock is just an on/off valve, and if you inadvertently switch it on you've just disabled your front brakes.
If it were me, and I just wanted to do a good burnout for one photo shoot, I'd disconnect and cap the rear brake lines, roll the rear tires onto a patch of grease or heavy oil, and do the usual heel-toe brake-clutch throttle thing. That way, you don't spend a ton of money on a line lock, you have grease under the tires to minimize shock damage to the drivetrain, and you have some petroleum product to add to the smoke.
Just my $0.0002
So does anyone have a line lock on a Gen V?
I'm installing one on my Gen 4 tomorrow...
I attempted to do a burnout in my gen v viper and only got a check engine light pop up.
I am in the middle of installing the line lock. I'm installing it next to the ABS module which is actually in the front bumper. its a pita to access it but I think that's the best spot for it. I have fabricated a steel bracket for the line lock and will weld it in tomorrow. Everything would be done except the line lock in the package was used and there's no way in hell im gonna install a used line lock. So hopefully Ill have a new one in a few days. Ill also write up a How To so others can install one on their Gen V as well.
Certainly got one working in my Gen 4...wouldn't go drag racing without one at this point.
The burnout is not the only reason to have a line-loc in a drag car. If you launch RPM is high enough (say north of 6k), there can be enough "windage" in the clutch so you creep on the line. The staging method I use (non-Viper) is, turn the 1st light on, gently apply the line loc, then bump forward with the clutch to turn on the 2nd light. You got to remember to release the line loc when you launch.
I put it back together before I took pics. It's not connected to the ABS module yet. . Was a real PITA to find the correct fittings and kinda lost interest. I had to make a bracket and weld it to part of the tube frame. When its all done you'll never know its there, and it looks factory.
