The new Corvette is a Chevy right? I just wonder will the new Vette win the "At Least It Rolls Downhill in Neutral" Award...for when it breaks down?

Not sure if anyone has seen these parodies but man...

This one sorta works with the new Vette, Mahk's comments I mean.

N' its the same old Corvette dudes.
The younger folks of today are going the other way entirely. Electric cars with auto-pilot drive modes.

    Sad but true..

It was only a week ago that GM closed the Warren Transmission plant.

IMO, owning a GM car under Warranty would not be a good experience. I know it hasn't been for a lot of C7 owners. Especially the ones with the A8 slushbox transmission.

I think it is going to require a higher price point for a buyer of a C8 to get the 0-60 times they are advertising. Otherwise why would someone pay that much more for the Z51, Z06, or ZL1 for similar performance? Maybe I'm wrong... guess we'll see.
It's be low 3's. GT3's with 500hp are 3.0. Just about every car with a DCT is low 3's these days. For example every road test I've seen on the 3900 lb 500hp Giulia's are 3.2 to 3.3. I could go on and on. Magazines have the Audi TT RS in the low 3's all the time with 394hp.

I love it. Ordered one and plan to daily drive it.

Give them credit where credit is due...heckuva package with some great engineering for the money!

And regarding servicing...it's a chev...I'm sure they've got it figured out.

The Ron Fellows school at Spring Mountain has started getting cars (pre-production). They have announced Dealer Orientation classes in Oct. I'm not sure when regular classes will begin. These cars have Michigan plates and, based on rotor wear and some test equipment installed, it looks like they were probably used for testing.

Can I ask why the most important thing to everyone is 0-60? How often when anyone drives their car, other than going to the drag strip, is someone primarily pulling 0-60 attempts? How does this define a track car?

To track rats it is one of the lesser important metrics, but it does give some indication of how the car accelerates.

Understood, but it seems everyone is lumping front engine rwd, mid/rear engine rwd and awd, as well as standard to DCT transmissions all into one category. Additionally I understand where it is more of a concern in the "Demon world", I have a widebody Redeye, but it was not nearly as much of a concern with my Viper's. We have seen Viper's with the proper tires cut some seriously impressive 60' and 0-60 times, especially for a car that is not designed for that as their primary performance.

Its the Z51 + the Z51 Performance Package that is needed to achieve that special stat. So it'll cost between ~$74K - ~$80K+.

No Sir, the paper tiger doesn't deserve it YET.

Another statement from the Professional Service guys is that the GM engineering team has a well established track record of not giving any thought to service and maintenance.
They leave it up to the Service department to figure it out after the fact.
Its a GM car.. they still haven't figured out a boat load of issues with the C7.

The good news is that more of the C7's are falling out of warranty and the after-market will be kicking in to provide solutions.
This will provide another measure and a better itemized list of "GM quality" shortcomings.

The question remains, how do you access the different parts of the engine? It's not looking good from the top!
N' why don't they include this info. in the marketing material?

The comparisons have been never ending and absolutely ridiculous.

It's been declared that the C8 is going to kill the market of any and all other cars being manufactured today. Its been absolutely ridiculous.

    Good and bad news.

Looking forward to hearing some real world evaluations of the car.
The pre-production part is a little troublesome.

And hopefully some factual information will start coming out rather than propaganda and marketing BS. There is always a bunch of mythological crap floating around until the new car is put to the test by an independent and credible source. If the numbers hold up, then good for them. If they embellished, that will hurt sales.

Very very slightly at best. I'm sure 99% of them will never see a track.

This one sorta works with the new Vette, Mahk's comments I mean.

Considering how many Viper Gen V engines grenaded, drank oil like a drunken sailor, had sludge in the cooling channels, I don't think Viper owners should be critiquing Chevy's build quality.

Considering you are an ex Viper owner and will most likely never own one again, maybe you should just go away once and for all. Not sure why you insist on showing up and make comments that comes down to truly nothing more than trolling. Buy your Mclaren already and join some forum where your opinion may make a difference

Looks like it has a tendency to "push". In all seriousness, I don't know who's fault it was. Occurred in a pack of Corvettes in California. Knocked the rear end out of the white Explorer and heavy damage to the left front of the red pick-up. A pretty heavy hit.

How many Gen V's did you buy again?

    Zero.

Unlike you, I have experience with QA issues on the Gen V. Dodge owners should not be casting stones at other domestic brands for quality.

Arrogant as always, you think you know all who bought new cars.

Not everyone chooses to fill their signature lines with info. Imagine that

My 2017 ACRE that I ordered from Bill, is sitting peacefully at rest in my garage last time I checked

Well... that happened sooner that I thought it would. Damn, I might have lost a bet.
Very curious to learn some details about the accident, cuz it kinda looks like the C8 jumped the double yellow and hit those two cars.
