Gen 2 race Chassis

Hey guys, knew to the forum, pretty excited. I looked around a bunch of threads and didn't get the answer I was looking for, hoping someone can send me in the right direction. I'm looking for blueprints of any gen 2 Le man race chassis. I was on art and revs website and saw the #52 Le mans viper on there and its chassis build but i'm looking for measurements and angles and so on of the racing chassis. Is that something that's attainable? Any pictures? Someone to contact? Or is that like hush hush cant let the competition know our methods type stuff? Hope my question made sense and I hope to hear back, thanks everybody!!!

Well I've been around the Gen 2 Viper scene for getting close to 20 years now so I'm not knew, and I've never seen this discussed (or requested) before, but if someone new I bet it would have come up. Good luck tho. Sounds like a fun project.

Given that the car is "ancient" by race car standards, and that all the info that you are seeking had to be supplied to the FIA for certification back in the day, maybe they can be of help.

The GTS-R’s homologation packet is still available from the FiA’s website, but I don’t recall seeing chassis specs like OP is looking for.

Well I've been around the Gen 2 Viper scene for getting close to 20 years now so I'm not knew, and I've never seen this discussed (or requested) before, but if someone new I bet it would have come up. Good luck tho. Sounds like a fun project.

ORECA has that information, they haven't ever made it available publicly. The cars obviously went through a number of evolutions between 1995 and 2003. What exactly are you attempting to do? The homologation package has the original basic specifications and some of the evolutions but they do not include construction level drawings nor every development change that was made.

I appreciate all the feed back guys thank you. And I know my way around a garage pretty well and I was looking at picking up a FFR Daytona to keep me busy for a while. But I wanted something more personal so I figured I could look up chassis specifications and build dwarf viper, like the ones from jet racing series, but more realistic. And I figured a cool start to the project would be a replica miniature race chassis with a 1,300 cc Hyabusa engine in it and make a nasty Le Mans replica mini hill climb car. I’m still pondering the idea. Already talked to a couple of Foam CNC shops and they want anywhere from 20-50k for a foam plug of a 3/4 scale viper. For that I’ll mold everything myself and so on. But I’ll check up on all the references you guys provided and Ollie I said I greatly appreciate it! Much respect!

Archer Racing in Duluth, MN used to have/had the frame jigs for the Gen2 race cars that they built and supported in the old VRL. I'm not sure if they're around anymore; but I've seen the frame jigs (20yrs ago) in person to verify that they did exist. You can also check with Jeff Stout @ Complete Performance Motorsports in OH. They seemed to have picked up most of the Viper race car support from Archer.

I'm not sure about John, but Bobby is back racing Viper again in SVRA. He is supporting a few cars right now out of Texas and may know where the equipment went.
