Carolinas Region, Charlotte NC Zone - March Luncheon!

I've already been in contact with the Carolinas VOA-Charlotte Zone members, but I wanted to post here as well. The Charlotte Zone is having a FREE (member + guest) luncheon on Saturday, March 15th at Quaker Steak & Lube in Concord, NC (7731 Gateway Lane NW, Concord, NC 28027). We plan to meet around 12-1230pm, hang out for a little bit then head inside for lunch. I've made arrangements for special parking and seating in the restaurant.

If you haven't seen my email regarding this luncheon but would like to come, please let me know by the end of the week. I need an accurate headcount to finalize plans with the restaurant.

I look forward to seeing everyone there!

Quaker Steak is a pretty cool place - I've always enjoyed eating there. I hope the weather cooperates - I've had the Viper out a few times over the past few months, but not as much as I'd like. She's ready to cruise - or rather, she'll be ready to cruise after our maintenance day on the 22nd..

Ok guys, we're good to go for lunch next Saturday at Quaker Steak & Lube - I've got the headcount and have passed the information along to the restaurant.

Plans are to meet up about 12:30pm at Quaker Steak & Lube in Concord, NC:

    7731 Gateway Lane NW
    Concord, NC 28027

I figured we'd hang outside for a bit, then head inside for lunch. This is a free lunch for you and a guest, excluding any alcohol and/or deserts; those would need to be covered separately by each member. We'll have reserved parking for the Vipers and reserved seating inside. I should be there by 12pm or a few minutes after.

We're meeting up with members of the Greensboro, NC zone at this luncheon as well.

I know how a lot of you feel about bringing the Vipers out in the rain, so if the weather looks like it's not going to cooperate, we would possibly consider canceling. If that were to happen, I will notify you in time.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday!

WOW, so cool guys! Some great photos and a very nice turnout! The cars look phenomenal as usual. I definitely see some new faces and am looking forward to meeting everyone. I recognize Rush's and Dave's car. Is that John with the Gen I RT10 with the cognac interior and Gen II wheels? Those wings look really good on those RT10's.

Patrick, GREATE JOB putting this together. So now, the big question is....WHO MADE THE CAKE?!?!

Patrick did a fantastic job!!!!!! Everyone was great. Couldn't ask for a better day, well, uh, except a truck changed its differential fluid on the front of my car on the way down, but Patrick was prepared with a cleaner kit that quickly remedied the oil spray on the frontend, hood, windshield, and roof. On the way home on 52, a truck blew a tire and I couldn't avoid one of the alligators on the road, thus more road scars :-(

I had a fantastic time and hope to meet more members next weekend.

    Dave

About the cake...all credit goes to Brittany - she had a friend's mom make the cake for us all. All her idea, she surprised me with it last night..

Dang Dave....sorry to hear that. How bad did it get you....on the nose, mostly underneath hopefully? Did it scratch deep or light enough that it will buff out? I have a bunch of various finishing and buffing compounds we can try next weekend if you like. Depending on the "scars", you'd be surprised what can rub out. The Gen II's have a nice thick clear coat.

Okay, Brittany may just get the "Carolina VOA Club Girl of the Year" award....dang, that is so nice. Thanks Brittany! Please pass it along.

BTW, it was nice to see all the ladies that came out....reminds me of the Biltmore photo from last year:

Again, thanks to everyone that participated. Hope lunch was good too.

Brittany said she'd happily accept the award..

Your question about the cognac interior RT - yep, that's Steve and Candy's RT. It was a Gen1-2 day for the most part..

1st, Brittany's cake was beautiful. She is definitely in the running for the award.

2nd, couldn't avoid the piece I ran over, except to say that I went at it head on and it made a horrendous noise as it went under. Guess we'll find out Saturday how much paint and/or dust got scraped off underneath. I was able to rub out the rubber tracks on the lower lip, meaning the initial impact wasn't the exposed steal belts. But with the burnt rubber smell coming from the car when I backed it into the garage, it might still be wedged somewhere underneath...Yuck
