    Dealer Edition ACR

Does anyone know anything about the Dealer Edition ACR #11 that Elite Motors in Arkansas has for sale. It has the 9 liter and is selling for 144k. It has about 4,100 miles. Not a real fan of the Dealer Edition and probably for a stupid reason, I don't like the word Dealer Edition under the ACR emblem. Looks cheesy to me. Aside from that the price seems too cheap. So if anyone knows anything I would appreciate some input.

You want input on a car you don't like?

The only input I can give is that it must be Tomball's car because John Gastman kept the #11 car from Roanoke for himself. Additionally, the car comes with a second generic dash plaque that can be swapped out for the originally installed one. It simply says "ACR" on it.

Price seems super inexpensive to me. Maybe the dealer doesn't know what they have. Or, since it's had the engine work done, maybe the dealer feels it's not bone-stock enough to warrant a real price. I don't know. For that price, though, and a 9L car, I'd be tempted to jump on it if I had the cash to spend.

Problem for people like me is that I'd want to drive the crap out of it, and I wouldn't feel good driving the crap out of a limited edition car. Call me stupid or whatever, and call me shortsighted because my cars are all going to be inherited by someone before I ever sell them, but I've got that collector gene in me, and maybe this car is priced right for one that has had mods done to it. If it were bone-stock, I'd expect it to go in the $160's at a minimum. Could be a good buy for the savvy buyer as long as there's no structural damage to it and the buyer is willing to forego any long-term warranty to the powertrain by FCA.

That car has been available for over 3 months at that price so the market would say something is wrong with it or it

Don't know about the car , but do want to comment on the statement that something must be wrong with it since it has been on the market for 3 months. This is far from a correct comment as I believe if one called Roanoke , Woodhouse, or Tomball , they would find out it was very common for a Viper to be on our lots 2-6 months prior to selling. I even would counsel our customers who wanted to sell their Snake themselves , not to get antsy, as the cars seldom sell in a few weeks or even a month. There is a lot of criteria behind this, but often it is as simple as the Bank telling the customer he/she can not finance the amount they require as the car does not book for the amount they want --- lifelong problem with the Viper as Financial Institutions use guides and it is not surprising that few list ACRs , TAs , or custom paint models , Limited Editions , etc. and there is no actual hard data. That is just one example , there are other things to consider and I am also not advocating this car is great, just making a comment on time frame as this has come up over and over during the decades I have sold Vipers.

Will continue to let Viper owners know , that when selling their cars , it may take a bit of time , but that does not mean the car is not worth the value asked , or close, and vehicles like this are often not quick sales ---yes, I know there are exceptions.

That Dealer Edition sticker on the car below the ACR sticker is not a stock item. Someone added it. I agree with Billy P, pretty common for inventory to take a while to sell. The five Vipers I sold took about that long.

ANY Viper that has had motor work done will be harder to sell, a lot of buyers would rule it out immediately. Not just the voided warranty but you never know what you're biting off with a modded car. But if you find the right guy...great. That car is unusually low priced and Elite has been around a long time and they are not stupid.

I've had my eye on this car for awhile too. It takes a very special buyer for the 9 liter mods to have added value as most people don't race and would rather have the full factory warranty instead of extra horsepower.

    Agreed 100%

That is why I would personally never mod a car in a way that would void a warranty, once it expires that different.

Great deal for someone that wants a 9 liter in a bad ass car. Mods are definitely hurting the value on this one. Cool nevertheless.

That's a great price especially given that it has the 9 liter. As for dealer edition sticker....take it off, problem solved. If the ACR checks out that's a great deal.

I thought that the Dealer Edition under the ACR was factory that's what I didn't like. Also the reason I'm interested is at least for me a 9 liter in a 2017 ACR at 145k is very tempting
