    Carbon Fiber tractor trailer

    http://www.greencarreports.com/news/...uture-of-semis

    From Wal-Mart of all places.

Walmart says this is the first example of a carbon-fiber trailer ever produced, and that its 53-foot side panels are the first single pieces of carbon fiber that large that have ever been manufactured.

Like the tractor, the trailer was also designed for optimum aerodynamic efficiency. It features a convex nose, which not only reduces aerodynamic drag but has the added of benefit of increasing cargo space in the trailer

    Fuel economy, great

    Design, intriguing

    Concept, leading edge

    Price...lets not go there.

Very interesting that Walmart would have any interest in producing or foregoing such a concept. I guess when you have that much money, you find ways to spend it.

We know Wal Mart as a retailer, but they are so sucessful because of their logistics and shipping accumen.

Plus, the steering wheel says Peterbilt, so Wal Mart's only involvement is probably monetary at best.

Look at it this way, Walmart has a vested interest in driving down shipping costs. If they can half their gas costs that it BIG money
