    Armor All Wheel Protectant

    Dear VOA Guys and Girls,

I see much chatter about wheel cleaning issues and I want to strongly recommend this product. I had a Maserati GT MC which has finely articulated wheels which were a royal PIA to clean.

With a couple coats of this protectant the brake dust and grime literally just never attached itself.

In fact I would wash the car several times and not even have to touch the wheels, in fact that is part of the trick - once you spray on a couple coats of this try NOT to touch them at all with anything. If you do you'll quickly see dust and grime attaching wherever you wiped off the protectant.

Try it and you won't regret it.

I seen this stuff on the shelf before and was wondering about it. I didnt get it bc i clean my wheels with a thin dry microfiber glove in my garage. I rarely ever have to wash my car/wheels so i only saw the product as a benefit if i were regularly hose/bucket washing. But will probably try and see if it makes a difference in my case as well.

Maybe they changed the product name?

Note that there are several complaints that this product leaves white or blue streaks on black wheels ... which leaves me out.

If you overspray I mean like BIG time you don't have any residue it's completely transparent to me on my smoked dark grey rims...

I agree with your assessment and have been using this stuff for 3 years. My local O'Reillys Auto Parts was discontinuing the skinny 7 oz spray can version for $2.00 a can so I bought about 20 of them. Only have about 8 cans left. I use it mostly on our Range Rover wheels because the big Brembos dust like crazy. It does work as advertised and if you touch the wheel the coating will come off and that spot will then show brake dust sticking to it. Best way to apply is to remove the wheel completely, clean and dry rim. Then spray both inside the barrel and on the outside. I also apply it to the Brembo calipers to keep them dust free and looking good. If you drive in a very heavy rain storm, you've pretty much washed the product off and it will need to be reapplied.

It works so well that after time the brake dust just accumulates in dry streaky clumps inside the barrel and you can literally just blow it away with compressed air.

I did start using it on my HPDE track rims and it does help make wheel cleaning easier from racing brake pad dust accumulation.

Whatever you need to tell yourself. They work fine right out the door cold and stop incredibly. This isn’t 2004. Did I mention no brake dust and last forever on the street? Now go get your shine box and clean your rims.

I've never noticed my CCB's needing to be warmed up or a lack of feel. You experienced this on a Viper ACR? On the track or street?

No one said they didnt stop well. On the street though they do lack feel compared to steelies. And you do still get better performance only after you warm up ccb's compared to when theyre cold.

I have used this product for years, its really really really good. It does dull the finish of the rim a DROP, some times if applied to heavy it leaves a white film.
I use it before every track day using two applications, and Use it before most long drives. I dont use it for car shows.

great product to have in the arsenal
