    Possible new owner central FL

Hi all. Long time lurker and finally decided to make a profile. I have been toying with the idea of a Gen V Viper for quite some time and pretty much started to narrow down my search. Long time Vette owner and looking to make the change over. Only thing that might throw a change up in this is if the C8 knocks it out of the park AND offers a manual transmission. Without a manual transmission I won't be a buyer.

The only other consideration at this point is a new ZL1 even though not really a true competitor to the Viper. Just hard to not compare it due to it's power output, though the Viper wins out, especially in looks. A C7 Z06 is not an option for me. They drive great and are a nice upgrade technology wise from the C6 but I just don't like the looks. For those that do that's great but it just isn't for me.

I have driven the C7 Z06 and the ZL1 and they are both quick, not as fast as my prior blown C6 but plenty for the street. The Gen V Viper I am sure is right there as well but alas there are no new ones to go drive. If there are any central FL owners I would gladly buy lunch and a few beers in trade for a few miles to help solidify my decision on a Viper.

My plans are to leave the Viper stock should I get one. I am in the middle of another large ci NA build that will keep my desire to modify at Bay.

I am trying to keep my budget to around $85k, give or take. A base SRT would be fine, GT would better. My preference is to have the Track Pack but it's not a necessity. Any color is good with me, least favorite is red but in some cars it looks so good. A red Viper with the back panel blacked out looks amazing. Interior colors not a issue either. I have found quite a few online that I really like.

So if there are any central Florida owners who would be willing to help me out I would appreciate it. Also, if any are thinking of selling their cars but do not have them listed anywhere I would be interested in taking a look. I am on I4 west of Orlando about 35 minutes.

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

I’m a bit of a drive, but I’m in Clearwater. Would be happy to give you a ride, granted mine is not stock. Know a handful of Gen V guys in the Tampa area from stock to built motor TT. Pick your poison.

That would be great! A stock or very close to stock is my preference to purchase.

I have a Black 2015 Viper GT for sale with the Track pack and has been upgraded to the 18 SPKR stereo. It has 8000 miles on it now. Asking 81K. You can see it in the classifieds on this website. It's located in Houston, TX.

I might take you up on a ride, you local guys! And you will probably spoil me for a stock car. Here is one that clicks. Lot of boxes. I wonder if they are a member on here.

I have so many irons in the fire right now. I have three trips for work in the next 5 weeks and waiting on the short block for my current build. Just not enough time it seems.

So, I have to ask because I can't find it through the search but I see that in 2013 there was a Track Pack, then the T/A in 2014. From what I see those are "kind of" similar but I know not the same. What does the later Track Package on the GT consist of?

I have a 13 SRT track pack car. It consists of the lighter Sidewinder 2 wheels, the lighter 2 piece Stoptech brake rotors, and Pirelli P Zero Corsa rubber instead of the standard P Zeros. These were also some weight savings over the standard rim, tire, and brake components on a non track pack car. The TA had these along with stiffer suspension and more aero bits added to the car but I believe the SRT track pack cars are still lighter than a TA.

So is it safe to assume it's the 2nd most track capable version of the Gen V? I really don't care either way as the base (can you call it that) will well surpass any of my abilities. But I wouldn't mind my hand at Sebring as it's only a short drive away.

2nd most track capable would be the TA2, 3rd is TA1, 4th is track pack, 1st is the ACR/ACRE. Track pack is the lightest of all vipers and fastest top speed assuming no aero. With that being said they are all fast at the track, you can always add aero later if you find a good deal on one without it. I'd give you a ride but mine is about to ship off for a heads/cam upgrade.

    SRT 3354
    SRT w/ track pack: 3297

    2016 Viper models:

SRT w/ sidewinder II wheels 3366
    TA2 3390
    GTS 3415
    GTS w/ sidewinder II 3399
    ACR w/ extreme aero 3392

My apologies. I forgot the ACR and the two variations of the TA. Any and all of them would be fine.

I would like to find a local car but am willing to travel.

The last time I was at the Exotic Car show out your way there were a few Vipers present.

Your car and mine are twins. You are correct - our 13 Track Pack cars are still technically the lightest. Unfortunately, they've take a huge value hit. Well I'm not planning on selling right now...

Yes, we have identical cars. I think the SRT's still do ok value wise. Sure they dont bring what a loaded up GTS does or an ACR like everyone likes, but the SRT's offer a lot of bang for the buck and its still a gen 5. They're not making any more and it still has the same engine as the more expensive models.

#3 & 4 are the same listing, no?
The 2nd one says "sale pending."
The 1st one seems like a great deal if the car checks out.
I am only going by year/price/mileage. I didn't check on options or vehicle history.

Crap. I double it. You are correct. I need to go back and find the one. Haha

It was a red SRT with 10k miles for $73k. Quite reasonable.

Hey, Pete. That would be great but I am stuck at the office out in Lakeland till at least 6 pm and I'm sure I don't have to tell you about I4 at that time. I would be to I-Drive at about 8 pm. Worst stretch of road I have ever had the pleasure to endure.

I did get some good news. My short block should be delivered Monday and I can start to piece my current project car together. Transmission should be in as well. I am sure I am forgetting a bunch of little stuff but oh well, I will cross that bridge when I get to it.

I went out and measured and I am quite confident I can put a 4 post storage lift in my garage on the side with the small bay. May have to ditch the hot water tank and use a just in time water heater in place....or simply just move it.

Hey I'm in St Pete and while I received my ACRE yesterday I'd be happy to show it to you if you'd be willing to come round!

    PM me if you're interested...

This car is priced about 15k under value assuming it's a clean title/carfax, don't think the owner realizes what he has.
